Mac Shell Script for Map Auto-download from MG.net
« on: November 30, 2007, 10:35:05 pm »
Hey there, I just finished a very, very simple Unix shell script (Mac-only) that automatically downloads every map (that you don't have) from mercenariesguild.net/base.  You can run it whenever you want, and it won't replace any of your maps.  Note that it may take a while, and takes up quite a bit of space (I ended up with 228 maps and a 1.31GB base folder).  You can always just individually download maps at the MG website as well, if you don't want all of the maps.

Here's the link:

Note:  This script is strongly based off of }MG{David's map auto-download script, only I changed it to work on Macs.  Note 2:  Your base folder should be located at /Applications/Tremulous/base, or else this script won't work at all.  Thanks!

Whatever happened to /Users/User-Name/Application\ Support/Tremulous/base

Can maps be stored in either place?

If so, I've wasted much too much time looking through my base folder for my binds, logs, scripts and more.

Yes, maps can be stored in ~/Library/Application\ Support/base, but I prefer to keep them in my normal base folder, as my base in Application Support is full of admin commands for my server.

Thanks!
