Newbie wants some help
« on: December 08, 2007, 10:43:45 pm »
The game looks fun, but I'm not entirely sure how to get started. There's no sign up button on the website so I'm not entirely sure where to start the game. I downloaded and ran the client but there were no servers popping up or anything. Am I supposed to make my own and invite people or what?

Have you tried setting the game to Internet, and getting a new list?

If you start up the game, you should change server list from "local" to "internet", but, first of all, please change topic of this thread to a more detailed message.
I have retired from Tremulous. Definetely. If you play a game just because it has become a habit, but u'r only feeling like a kindergarten teacher - well, maybe I am just getting too old (hell, I was a teenager when DukeNukem3D was *new*) - it's probably not a bad idea to just let it be. And I do.

Don't take this personally. Have fun, guys.

Or even do it how the cool kids do: find the address from here and manually connect to it via the in-game console.

That should actually fix your problem. If it doesn't you might want to flip through the troubleshooting part of the forums. There are some problems that crop up now and again that might cause it and you can probably find an answer there.
I also suggest you look here:
http://tremulous.net/forum/index.php?topic=1049.0
and read through it.. the internet server thing is in there and might have saved you the trouble of posting if you had read it.
