UEF-CV Nimble

United Earth Federation Cargo Vessel- Nimble

A few days ago I started on a new map called UEFCV-Nimble, or Nimble for short. I don't expect to have a release soon, as I can only map for about an hour a day before I run out of ideas. I'm hoping to have a Beta out for early next year, but there are no guarantees. I'm working at a slow pace, and detailing a lot as I go as to avoid my laziness getting the best of me once I finish the layout.

Backstory:

Incoming File Transfer from UEFFCV-Nimble:

...

Capitan's Log:

Date: 2143.11.16:20:05

I have no doubt that this will be my last entry in this log. We lost helm control on our last cargo run to Starbase:016 in SagDEG, and drifted into a small asteroid belt. Soon after we entered the belt, we were boarded by, what seems to be an intelligent form of life. The alien creatures fortified their hive in our waste stores, main engine room, and communications. I am sending this log from a remote terminal near our storage district. We require immediate backup.

...

...

Transmission Terminated.

Features:
- Three initial Alien "Hives" spread across the map.
- Alien creep in their three hives.
- Large cargo elevators.
- Minimal lighting throughout the majority of the map to keep humans on edge.

Screenshots and Other Media:
Coming soon.

Having a spread out alien starting base should make a nice change. ^_^

Things might get slightly hectic on low BPs servers, but the two secondary Alien bases will only consist of an egg and an acid or two (perhaps a hive).

Also, although I'm not sure this will work, I can compensate for the Alien's lost build points with:
Code: [Select]
alienBuildPoints: The maximum amount of sentience available to the overmind. Defaults to 1000.

Can't build points be specified in the map itself?  Though that could get messy if the first thing the aliens do is decon the other bases and build one huge base.

Yes BP can be specified in map.
If don't know. You just select any worldspawn (structual brush or whatever they're called) and open entity inspecter type in key 'alienBuildPoints' and value of your choosing. You can also specify stage 2/3 tresholds.

Setting a bp value in the map is a bad idea if only because a lot of servers use custom amounts of bp.

Yes, that could be a problem. Harwe's unlimited wouldn't be unlimited anymore. xD (And let's not get into the technical shit about unlimited servers not being unlimited, anyway.)
