This is another incarnation of the idea I posted of harvesting bodies. Perhaps it would make a better option than the medic that was proposed. This concept instead would involve adding units to each team that can gather up bodies to reclaim them.  

For humans, a gatherer would be a more armored, weak offensive unit that could drag a body back to base (melee attack only?).  Having done that, credits would be made available to the whole team.  I suppose this would mean the humans would buy a 'gathering harness' or 'field recovery kit'
Alternatively a gatherer could possibly reclaim the upgrades from the body and give them to a team member who needs it.

For aliens, the gatherer could be the same or perhaps a hulking mamoth thing having no offensive abilities but dretches could ride on it and make attacks from it's back.  It then might not need to drag bodies home but instead spend 10 seconds or so reclaiming it.  Then it could give the points to a team-mate.

I imagine the gatherer might end up being a more strategically minded player who isn't necessarily as 'l33t' a killing machine.

I don't think a gatherer should have any way of keeping the upgrades for himself.  (sorry ladies all the units are male.. 'course who knows about those grangers..)  :wink:

seems too complicated.  it seems more doable to have a system where a human could get energy for an energy weapon or whatever by harvesting an alien body.  that would be a simpler thing, and not as big of a balance issue, but I don't know if anything on the human side would make gameplay better without adding too much complexity.
on the alien side, I would really like to see something where you can use a human body.  that could be a multitude of things, from a new class to a new building.  some ideas:

A dretch could have a secondary attack at some point that would allow them to harvest a body and then have something cool.  like additional hitpoints, temporary paralyzing poison or something.  maybe a granger or dretch could burrow in a body and then explode it to create an acid bomb.  or maybe turn it into a proximity mine.  my personal fav would be if a granger could do an "infestation" to a person and then walk around in their body - either as a "stealth" thing, or as a way to send a kamikaze bomb straight into a bunch of humans.  i for one would pick the granger-zombie as my new favorite class. :wink:
i'm sure most of these ideas are not very possible, but I think the idea of harvesting humans is so "alieny" that it would really add to the gameplay on that side. :wink:

more things to do on the RTS side of trem would be good, but i think it will be very hard to implement them while retaining the balance and feel of trem, which is already very good.
