RE_LoadWorldMap: maps/[mapname].bsp not found
« on: December 27, 2007, 05:06:22 pm »
Now, I know the first thing you guys'll think is "Oh my god, newb mapper. Search!" The thing is, I have searched, here, there, and everywhere.

"RE_LoadWorldMap: maps/[mapname].bsp not found" is an error that occurs when you're attempting to /map or /devmap a .bsp file that's not in a .pk3. However, in my case the .bsp is in a .pk3. I've checked over the .pk3 many times. The .bsp is a working one, the .arena is correct, and after much searching, I cannot find the answer to my problem.

I can supply specifics if needed.

Thank you,
Plague Bringer.

...

Compiling with Q3map2toolz and using the handy dandy map-packer fixed my problems, but all my textures are scaled wrong, my nobuild brush is solid with an unknown texture, and the rising/lowering floor in the alienbase hall is nonexistant. Not to mention that the water-shader used in the hidden room creates a void affect when it comes in contact with a wall.

sv_pure 0

It lets you run maps not in pk3 archives.

I know what sv_pure is and how to use it. My problem is I'm getting an error that's associated with running non pk3 maps without sv_pure 0 when I'm trying to use a pk3'd map! I don't want to devmap the .bsp in my /maps folder, I want to devmap the .bsp in the .pk3, but it's as if it's not there!

i assume you are referring to ancient_b1? when i downloaded the .pk3, it was invalid, which was fixed by renaming it to zip and unzipping. then i repacked it with PakScape. i have no idea why the pk3 was screwed in the first place, but pakscape will eliminate the chance to make those errors...

That's a bad way of doing it.

There is nothing wrong with it.

I know. That's basically what I did, but somewhere between saving and updating the .pk3 it went weird.
