Ammo costs money...

A great way to stop camping is to make ammo cost money, If you buy the weapon you get the gun and no ammo, and ammo costs 1-10 cash a piece depending on the weapon, that way if humans are camping and the aliens are smart enough to not die, they will soon be left with no ammo no cash and generally hopeless.

The only exception being if you spawn with rifle, in which you still get default ammo, but once you use all that ammo you need to buy some to get some more. I understand that this isn't a stop to camping, and would probably need some balance tweaks, but nevertheless it would probably bring down the camping on humans alot.

NOEZ!!  i can picture it in the headlines...

unless you have to 'buy' energy, which would be pathetic...

and also, it might do the opposite effect, it might encourage camping to gain camping credits...

That would be idiotic cause you need to get out of base to attack with psaw , and any smart goon would pounce in, pounce out, and people would be chasing with psaws.

Remove camping credits, simple. Or make them less so they would really only do anything if you didnt use any ammo.

Sorry, pals, but reducing "camping" credits is stupid. It is a kind of reward for not getting killed or, in other words, not feeding the other team, which is supposed to be something good!
I have retired from Tremulous. Definetely. If you play a game just because it has become a habit, but u'r only feeling like a kindergarten teacher - well, maybe I am just getting too old (hell, I was a teenager when DukeNukem3D was *new*) - it's probably not a bad idea to just let it be. And I do.

EH well just make ammo cost more money, either way if ammo costs money, camping credits wont offset the cost if they waste ammo and spam.

I dont really like this idea.

Shooting aliens would become more costly than the ammo, and only the 2 or 3 kill-whores in your team would have enough money to kill anything.

All the other non-rad people wouldnt be able to do anything (except chainsaw en-mass) so people would be really fed up, puissed off, and lave the game.

My favorite player is Jesus, because everything is forgiven when he respawns.

I personally like this idea.
The cost for buying ammo should different for each weapon, but the price should stay the same even though you've full ammo.
Per bullet would get prices that get over the top lol.

Yeah and when you build your base and advance up you should get various bills such as reactor insurance, if the reactor blows up you get a new one free (not like that happens anyway) and all this costs is a measley 1000 creds, failure to buy insurance would result in the human team being sued  8).
On a serious note, go ahead and mod it in if you wish, Im sure it wouldnt be that hard, but as for the mainstream I doubt it would be very popular and you might as well just ban any new players on site, think about it you spawn with your rifle "OMG IMA SHOOT T3H ALIENZ LOLZ!" *click* *click* "OMG WTF GAY LOL" */disconnect*

Im not saying it should be only human changes, something to offset ammo cost wouldnt be to hard to think off.

Teams that don't do teamwork also tend to feed (or be killwhores that scream at their team for camping, when, in fact their newb or n00b team is feeding).

Making ammo cost credits wouldn't really solve anything. If I ran out of rifle ammo, I'd suicide or feed a hungry dretch rather than trying to kill anything with a blaster. And lowering the rifle damage, even by one would be a terrible idea. Instead of 5 hits to kill a dretch, it'd now take seven. Also, aliens could easily starve the humans just by playing as they usually do; by running away when their HP gets low. Now, no one will be shooting at those rants or goons anymore since its a waste of money, and everyone who doesn't feed will be building turrets til' sudden death, when the aliens will most likely win.

sell you current rifle and buy it again and you have full ammo. Same with other wepons preaty much.
