See Through Brush Panels + Water Tunnel Problem
« on: January 03, 2008, 12:34:37 am »
Ok Im working on my map Archao and have came across an odd problem. Some of my brushes are missing a side. Basically on some brushes a side that should be textured is seethrough  :o I have done the usual checks of possibly having doubled the brush. There is not. And checked for any random entities being linked with the brush. No.
Im stumped for ideas about what's causing it. Any help is very much appreciated.
And also My water tunnels are having a slight hiccup also. Currently where the water brushes touch I'm getting a white grid texture. In Radiant both white grid areas are "NoDraw" and I took that advice from Bubba's Mapping Guide. Does anyone know the solution to this problemo :D

And Archao shall be tested soon on a [T] server. Thx to the twins.

Are you sure you have a nodraw shader?

The white grid texture indicates that trem can't find the texture for that surface. You should see a corresponding error in the console after loading the map. Did you use textures/common/nodraw ?

I don't know what could be causing the transparent face problem. Have you tried deleting the brushes then recreating them - is this a recurring problem?

I have used the NoDraw texture from the common folder and the invisible faces are just appearing in very random places. I was thinking that It could be a compile problem? There both very weird problems :( More information I'm thinking of is that I tried to use "Slick" and it appeared as the white grid too. But I have also used trigger successfully which is also from the common folder :(

ive had this error too... first - make sure when you compile it that it doesnt give any errors
second - did you pack the shaders?

I didn't pack them because I felt it wasn't needed because the other common folder items were functioning perfectly. And I've solved the missing faces problem by chance. I shall take your advice though X-20

Thank you very much :)

dont forget to add your shader to the shaderlist.txt when you are compiling.
