SUGESTION should you beable to upload you own trem music (any music)? like in game were you can hear it while your playing but also adjust the volume and stuff AND still hear the normal trem sounds.  you could put it on play back or on a play list that would play during tremulous so it would go to the next song

plz no flaming and stay on topic

You do know about the MPAA and RIAA, right?
So uploading is totally out of the question.

As for the rest, there are already tools out there that will do what you want.

I put on music using itunes/windows media player and adjust the sound with my keyboard.
Works well.

But you somehow would be able to hear them if the player were built into Tremulous?

Higher Game

Do what they did for Doom. Make MIDI versions of actual songs.  ;D

MIDI? Yuck!  ;D

That must be the first version of Doom. Hexen II also had (has). It played crappy musics, though.

Lava Croft

The last version of DOOM also had MIDI music, and it's not crappy at all. It was moody, scary and perfectly suited for the games that DOOM and DOOM II are. The Hexen II MIDI's also perfectly fit in the gameworld, and do not sound crappy at all. Maybe if you started gaming around the year 2000, you might think MIDI sounds shitty, but to me it's pure love from a time when most games were made with love, and not a wallet.

As has been mentioned before there are several tools out there that will allow you to control your music player through Trem. There's not much point including support for MP3/M4A/MP4/whatever when you can play your songs through your favourite music player.

If you're having trouble hearing the gunshots over the music then maybe turn down the volume on you media player?
