It's cool though it takes some time getting the guys to do what you want them to do. As of lately, I do not have much time :'(

Cool concept...
Executed poorly...

The engine, while being a good indy games engine, was not designed for this sort of thing. I think, however, if the learning curve and the graphics were toned down a little, this game could win awards.

Remember, this 'game' is a project in which computers learn, which is great. I have no clue how they did it but you can learn them basically everything.
The closest thing I can think off is black&white (1) but even that is not as complicated as this. I'm personally quite curious how this new technique well be used in commercial games. Think of the A.I. evolving to counter everything you throw at them and after practicing with them, going online to see how you fare against them.
The A.I. is great and I'm a big fan of A.I. :P

World in conflict AI are actually pretty smart  :) They can adapt very quickly to counter whatever you throw at them.

Oh and if you are interested in AI check out http://www.interactivestory.net/ You can download it for free as a torrent.

I played NERO a while ago with Karvajalka, and it's a cute game that tries something different. The GUI and controls are easy, the tutorial explains everything very well, and there is no sign of the 'poor execution' Kaleo mentioned. Cool game to play for short periods.

And just for ShadowGandor's info, Black & White is far more complicated than this, it only doesn't smack you in the face with it. You would be amazed at how many stuff happens in B&W that you do not see.

I'm personally impressed with how it seems that you can teach your creature everything, from throwing horses in the marketplace (or whatever it was called in english) to pooing on defeated creatures. It's a great game and I used to play it online through hamachi and eventually phoenix or whatever it was called. My poor cow didn't stand a chance against the increased megablast using madmonkeys >.<
