Sauce The Game and Tremulous

A new free online tv show Sauce The Game started up today. Basicly it's an online show dedicated to show casing open source games (like Trem). The star of the first episode is Tremulous. You can view it over at www.saucethegame.com.

Doesn't seem too bad for a first episode and the host seems to be a pretty big fan of Tremulous which is a plus  :D

Yeah, not mine. I think I used to have an account here but I somehow misplaced it. I do occasionally browse the forums but haven't had any reason to make a post yet. Thanks for thinking that I've made a free online show, it's quite flattering.

if you wanna make an online show entertaining, add some sauce to it :-) i mean it needs some extra features that makes it unique...

Not bad, I think a little production work would bring things up a notch.

I like that the videocast is short, I get bored with long ones. I think you need 2-4 second intro with just a title and some kind of music. I would shoot the show without the curtain in the background, using the monitor wall as the background instead. There is a constant noise through the video, I believe a computer fan. Maybe move the camera away from this source.

As for the content, titles would really spruce things up especially when showing game footage. Watch some G4 videocasts for examples of this. At the end of the videocast, maybe run down some bullet points about the games your are covering to sum things up, you know:

* Two unique sides
* Unique build system
* FPS action
* Low system requirements

Those are horrible examples btw, you get the idea.

Good luck man.

Cheers for the advice Veda I am constantly looking at ways of improving the show.

Maybe you should also tell how modable the games are. Some gamers only play games that they can write their own things for, for example: MTA. Lots of people only play that pure for the fun of scripting their own modes.

For the rest, I like the show, although the humming sound you can hear can be distracting.

Death On Ice

And I thought Veda was one of the long-dead Tremulous developers.

Welcome back :D

Now all we need is proof that Dolby isn't dead.

Also, nice work Qwerty. I agree that a little extra production effort might improve the show, and that you should work on sound. You might also want to look into a few nice gfx and music to spice everything up.

At least that way one can avoid achieving reputation of total ass. :3 (I did not mean that you are one.)
