Some questions
« on: August 17, 2001, 01:01:00 am »
1. i was reading the plan and didn't find anything about healing. Will there be healing? maby give droids the extra option to heal of a corpse instead of evolving?

2. Will there be a way to store up frags for the not so good players? In case some human wants to safe up for a thermonuclear missile to get rid of that bioegg high on a ledge or some droid wants to become strong enough to break past the turret defense.

3. Is there already decided on a overall strategie? Like droids weak in the lower classes strong in later, humans vice versa.
Humans having strong structure defense but weak player defense? Droids having strong player defense but weak structure defense?
etc.

4. Will there be diferent types of damage and different type of resistances based on class/ armor?

good questions

i can only guess, but I'm almost sure that it will be like low droids weak, higher "classes" very powerful vs human players, but the humans will most likely have an easier job when they attack the enemy base
humans might have to stick together to provide each other with coverfire against droid stealthattacks and droids might have to stick together to have a chance against human base defense

but I cant really say, because i only cared about proposals for the look of the mod so far...

The eat-a-corpse-to-heal-instead-of-evolving idea is a good one, but I would expect other ways of healing too...

Oops, guess healing wasn't mentioned in the plan. That's fixed, I simply added how the droids heal here.

To put it short, droids heal over time. This was a design decision made a long time ago, and I see no point in changing it this far along.

Actually, It was decided that the droids only healed when they stood still...

I'll add it to the plan later, once I get some much-needed sleep. Thanks for all the reminders.

What about number 4 with the damagetypes and resistances. that's the one'i'm rally interrested in. It would add a strategivc element. Like you could own zealots with firebats in starcraft.

I must face the horror of programming in a  pure functional language now...
