Binding help
« on: February 10, 2008, 03:42:43 pm »
Hmmm... Seeing as I can't really be bothered to learn bindings, I just wanna know the binds I want... Can anyone make up a /bind for console, or whatever?? Basically, I wanna change my name From: "^1|FA|^5TragicZ to ^2Un^7known" And bind it to F5... Can anyone compile the code for me please??

Since you say yourself you cannot be bothered to learn anything, I cannot be bothered to teach you anything.

xD Ok well, when I say I cant be bothered to learn... I mean I can't be bothered to try and understand it all or become and expert (-_-) I did that for HTML for about a month, then some oter guy learnt it for about a day and could outsmart me :( Therefore, what I really meant was that I don't want to understand how it works, but I want it to work, whilst being able to make new things... And i bet you don't understand what i mean...

Is there a guide to bindings available anywhere??

Yes, MG hosts an article about binds on their wiki.

There are some pretty advanced compiler programs out there that may help you do the more complicated stuff, such as changing your name, and binding keys to saying things.

Lava is being righteously mean.

All you have to do is open console with ~

Type:     /bind [key] name [^1name]

For you, that would be: /bind f5 name ^2Un^7known

I still strongly suggest you take a look at the wiki article.

Thank you death on ice... But is there a way to use the console to then bind F5 to change the name back?

And I read the Articla Lava but I couldn't get it to work properly...

/bind f5 vstr name1
/set name1 name ^1|FA|^5TragicZ; bind f5 vstr name2
/set name2 name ^2Un^7known; bind f5 vstr name1

Binds Wiki (<=great for learning binds) ;D
