So how do I install meep and gloom ?

I know, Im prolly a dud here, but I cant seem to make these maps work, I have tried extracting them to all kinds of places, didnt work, the only files that come close to resembling map files are the .bsp files, there are zero .pk3 files in the .zips I have extracted, so I tried renaming them to .pk3 instead, no go, I moved them to the main /base directory, no go, I renamed them map-etc etc etc.pk3, still no go, please someone tell me how the heck I install those 2 maps, because now I have all kinds of folders and files all over my tremulous installation, and its a right mess

firstly, you can get them automatically in game if you set the options to allow auto downloading, other wise put the pk3 files in the /base directory with all the other pk3s.

what zips are you reffering to. In fact which maps are you reffering to? You
can get any that arent with the main instalation from this forum as pk3.

Although the pk3s are in the zip format you dont need to extract them anywhere, just shove em in /base.

Download the files as all files with the name ending in .pk3 and put them in the /base directory. Should be all.
Alternatively autodl them from a server

Hmm the files Im offered in the download are both .zip files, called map-gloom2beta1.zip and map-meep_b1.zip, and when I extract the .zip files I cant find any .pk3 files at all in them .....

Ok I figured it out, I renamed the .zip files to .pk3 instead, and dropped them in /base, seem to work, weird

That's because you're downloading them as .zip. Download them as all files or rename *.zip to *.pk3 no extracting. They still go in /base after this though.
