Custom content override?
« on: February 15, 2008, 10:20:23 am »
My questions for today are:
1. Can you override game files safely through map-myklewmap.pk3 such as models, game sounds, skins?
2. If you can does it have any side effects on other maps played in rotation (some files not reloaded from data-1-1-0.pk3?)? (Don't correct the file name even if it is wrong.)

There was something with the order of loading. Don't remember exactly. Was it unzipped/pk3ed after zipped/pk3ed or was it zzzzzz.pk3 gets loaded last and overrides previous stuff? And even then I can't remember to which pk3s it applies. Best way would be to test what I just said with some models/texture paths leading into an existing map and see if they get replaced. Purity errors might occur though. And in this way it would affect all maps loading the original files since it should clear and reload them all in exactly the same way.
I’m busy. I’ll ignore you later.

I humbly apologize my idiotic question.
