I played 2 a bit.. my friend has 3 and it looked pretty cool.. but if I would ever stop being cheap i would buy rockband.

I think the original had the best songlist, tbh, but the gameplay has become a bit tighter and more advanced since then (3-fret chords, Rock Band's addition of the higher fret buttons for hammer-ons/pull-offs, better co-op modes, etc.). That being said, I love Rock Band with the very core of my soul. I can appreciate Neversoft's work on GHIII after Activision bought the franchise, but Rock Band made it clear that it was the talented minds behind the original, and not just the concept, that made the Guitar Hero franchise.

Guitar hero 3 rules! I play it on ps3 and I have 1 and 2 on ps2  3 is definetly the most fun.
