ATCS is clearly ultimate...

most other maps are too dark/have bad designs that leave one team unfairly underadvantaged

if it wasnt for the fact that you have to have it for textures id remove the fucking pk3 from my server.

Delete the maps directory, leave only the textures and scripts directory.

Just take it out of rotation and all our problems are solved !!!

Quit gripping to everyone else to take if off.
Stop playing a server that has it or pay for your own server and do as you like.

ATCS IS Over played, no one can say he didnt play it enough...

Of course its a good map balanced and all... but... Always the same strategie... Booring...

I miss the MapMadness server where all map was  :'(

If that would be true, than the drink with the best taste of all would be - water.

ATCS is one of the most popular maps because it is small and simple, it is easy to understand and you will learn it quickly without having to play it more than two times therefor very well playable by anybody and - an overall b-o-r-i-n-g map.

A problem why many people don't like other maps that much is because they require skills. Shoot-shoot-bang is easier than to develop (or just have...) a strategy, being a lone hero is easier than to cooperate. ATCS is surely a map ideal for the unsophisticated mind, the same reason why Shakira is more popular than Brahms - would anybody claim that Shakira is the better of the two?

The good thing about the Tremulous community is that it is quite big, so there is a good chance that you will find a bunch of people to play with that share your preferences. If not - life is tough sometimes. However, I agree with you, I am too bored of ATCS.

I have retired from Tremulous. Definetely. If you play a game just because it has become a habit, but u'r only feeling like a kindergarten teacher - well, maybe I am just getting too old (hell, I was a teenager when DukeNukem3D was *new*) - it's probably not a bad idea to just let it be. And I do.

WHAT!?!?!?! it is much easier to be a lone hero on other maps, on ATCS either route and you end up swimming in enemys.

Definetely not, because the map's so small, you're never alone ;D No, seriously, it's pretty easy to escape in ATCS, and I don't know how many times I (or someone of my team) decided the fight by walking into the alien base and just shooting down everything... ATCS is so small, you don't need a strategy, you don't need teams.

I often sort by maps, but that's because I just love playing well-made custom maps.
That, and I am also tired of ATCS.

OFF-TOPIC: I wish sort by player-count would put servers with more player-slots higher than other servers with the same number of connected players.
