Two players with the same IP ?
« on: May 27, 2006, 02:23:43 pm »
My brother and I share the same adress IP because we are behind a router, and the game doesn't like that : if one is playing, the other can't even get the server list, and if he get the server list or try to join a server, the other one freezes/crash.
Is there a way to solve this problem ? We played some other online game and there wasn't any problems, so I don't know why Tremulous doesn't like that  :'(
Thanks.

My son and I both play from the same IP and don't have this problem.   Perhaps it is an issue with your NAT firewall.

Try with static ip, 192.168.2.33 and  192.168.2.32 (whatever) hardcoded, to avoid DHCP, that maybe is somewhat broken or whatever with your router.

I have the same problem on my network. Only one person can get in a game, the other will either crash the first player when trying to enter, be unable to enter at all, or get that -1 servers thing.

Me and a roommate have played simultaneously on AKKA several times now with no connection problems.  The router is a Linksys WRT54G running dd-wrt v23-sp1 firmware.

That's easy : you have a crappy router. What model is it so that we can avoid buying it ?
