tremulous failed to start (on ppc)

Hi.

start tremulous in xterm I got this error message and returned to command line prompt.

I am running Gentoo Linux on iBook (ppc), tremulous 1.1.0 (compiled with several options: opengl, vorbis, openal).

SDL Dependencies:
   libsdl 1.2.11 with alsa, opengl and xinerama enabled;
   sdl-mixer 1.2.7 with vorbis option enabled.
   I didn't have sdl-sound installed.
My other game (xmame) using SDL can play fine.

OpenGL dependencies:

   I enabled direct rendering.
   Video card is ATI Radeon Mobility M7 (7500).
   X11 video driver is opensource 'radeon' driver.
My other game using opengl (neverball) plays fine.

Signal 4 = Illegal Instruction.

I assume your using the ppc binaries etc?
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

He is probably using the correct binary, or else he probably wouldn't have gotten that far  ;)

I uses the binary compiled on my own notebook. GCC version is 4.1.2.

If it means an illegal instruction, should this be a bug at GCC?

oops, i fail.
1.1 won't run on ppc linux for the reason you noticed, i think that if you grab svn971 and apply this patch you should get a working client (they also have an ebuild). (the relevant fix)

I think it is still possible to get the old mac-patch for svn 755 from tjw's website...  That might work...

NOTE:
I think that the '-b' option will get 'patch' to give create any files that were not there.
