Well, it depends what stage your at. If both are S1 then it is Shotgun. If we are s2 and AS1 Shotgun, Anything up Lusi or chaingun

It really depends on the circumstances.

I am rather partial to the shotgun, though.

It's amazingly incredibly cheap, so you can damn near always afford to buy one.

It packs a rather nice punch within its effective range, and is effective against bigger bugs since their gigantic hitboxes soak up all the pellets.

I also rather enjoy the lasgun, and the pulse rifle when it's practical.

My favorite load out is: pulse, light armor, helmet, battery, grenade (optional).
this has killed many a base.

Shotgun, it's the only weapon bind I have. Although on the side it functions as a rifle, armor, helmet bind if I don't have enough for a shotgun and armor/helmet.

md is by far the best weapon...if you know how to use it. I bet if two humans were to try to kill each other, one w/md one w/luci, the md would win, just cause theluci is so slow.

This post is wrong in so many ways. No weapon is by far the best. An MD would not be first on any account except for killwhoring dretches (where the luci can probably do better) or maybe support (where the lasgun is probably just as good). If you are fighting goons and rants, MD is one of your worst choices in my opinion.

To be the most effective, it requires a battpack, which makes it cost 450. The shotgun is 3 times cheaper, and just as, if not more, effective as the MD (and even better than MD vs goons and rants) except for chasing. You don't have to spend as much for it either, and MD is a shaky buy in s1 vs goons. I would also choose the chaingun, which would cost less as well, over the MD in s2. It is, again, better vs the higher classes.

Also, this game is built for human vs alien, so using human vs human to compare weapons is extremely stupid.

So, you can choose MD as your favorite weapon, but it is not even in the running for the best weapon. Sorry.

Shotgun remains my favorite. Snap aiming at semi-instantaneous speeds to get kills gives me the opportunity to focus on dancing with my enemies, and I love dancing just as much as shooting.

However, I spread my time out a lot. Second favorite would be lasgun right now.

i voted lusi because it is effective.  laz guns take forever to kill something with pluss you need really good aim and shotguns require quick reflexes and great aim.  I use lusi because i have non of thoughs and have all you need for a lusi 
timing and tracking.

You still need good dodging and a firm grasp of luci jumping. But yes, memorizing the luci speed is extremely important.

I voted shotgun... But I love MDing marauders and humuliating dragoons with the MD too... Lazar is good to pick off multiple aliens since high clip and no reload but not as effective as a few well placed shotgun shells. It's just easier

(since luci hold'n'charge is deemed as a bug exploit and also removed I just use luci for basekilling and killwhoreing dretches )
