More people need to play the 1.2 test server...

More people need to play the 1.2 test server so that the devlopment staff can see how the changes effect balance and so forth... and so it gets done faster, and so you can share your input and so forth... because games with 1 or 2 players... dont really tell them much... and at the moment... the server is preety much allways empty... so make sure view empty servers is check on when looking for it. 

Oh... and... the server name is

"}mg{devlopement server"

and MAKE SURE to turn on autodownload... as you kinda need to download the 1.2 (alpha or beta, who knows...) "mod"

be sure to read the help section (between options and exit on the menu) so you know what has changed... like...

barracades :barricade: are usefull.

rants that can fly, can crush hummies(jump off the side of the middle building in atcs, for example)

aliens heal slower, unless they are on creep(current healing), or next to a  :basilisk:basilisk/booster (2 or 3x currret healing)

advanced goons :dragoon: get barbs with splash dmg, and they are avalible at s2 (DIE HUMMIE TURRETS!!!1)

s1 grangers  :granger: are still incredibly cute, and still make great pets, but can scratch you now...  :(

and more... ;D

the hummies get stuff too...

turrets.... :turret: are... weaker or stronger depending on your point of view...

teslas  :tesla: usefull because of changes in turrets

lucifer cannons have 1/2 charge rate (takes longer to charge a full shot) but the shots travel faster.

mass driver shots travel through things they hit, hitting multiple things along the path. (dont line up your alien buildings)

It means your referencing invalid .pk3 files.... which means you need to overwrite them(where ever they are with valid versions.(with whatever a .pk3 file is... i think they are the format for maps.{atcs, tremor,})

1. I don't like mark deconstructing  :-\ , but that's only my statement.  :)

2. The colors are wrong: for example ^5nismo^2@^3nis^4.de ^7was gunned down by a turret.  changes too:  ^7nismo^2@^3nis^4.de ^7was gunned down by a turret.  ::)

Mark decon is a big change, but don't be so quick to dismiss it.
It has a lot of benefits over the current system, primarily while moving.
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

This error can come about from trying to connect to a server you've just disconnected from. Try restarting trem and connecting again before you go overwriting stuff.

I know, it's quite useful for example if you're moving RC, but it's, like you said, a big change and I don't like so big changes  ::)
But my brother could convince me, that it's not so bad how I thought. His ingame name is "maci". I don't know whether you know him, but he's got an own server on top of the main server list and he's very famous. His website is http://satgnu.net  ;D

How?
Slightly cheaper, I think slightly tougher, and more importantly, can move out of your way, so you can use them to block stuff without also screwing yourself over.

This is a bug in SVN code that I haven't been able to understand, much less fix. With any luck, someone with a clue like Timbo or tjw will sort it sooner or later.

But marked decon is making base moving easier without more than one kit coordinated.

coordinated base moves are quite cool imo.

But nvm, it's probably good.

I would love to play on that server, I know there is an european 1.2 test server thanks to MG, but it's always empty... :(

the whole, mark decon thing... although different from the mark decon of other servers... is still mark decon... and it is the biggest change... and some people will like it, and those who dont, will simply make a 1.2-markdecon mod... and htere will definatly be "classic" servers...

now.... i wonder what would happen if someone crossed tremx with 1.2.... hmm....

I must say I'm not a big fan of marked decon either. It addresses the issues that needed to be addressed, but... I find it unnecesarily sophisticated. I think the same issues could be addressed with small modifications to the old system (like, making buildings start to build from 30% health while taking the same time to reach 100% as now, which would solve most of the problems when moving)

Hey sorry for maybe dumb questions, but what development Server? What 1.2 client build? What Staff?

It would be nice to know a bit more. I Would have tested if I had seen anything not hidden on the forums ;)
What about updating the website on that issue? Should get you plenty testers.

DO IT NOW! List the servers running 1.2 test servers in europe, US, australia and other places, and ask for MOAR servers!
WTB more Europe test servers that are regularly populated. :'(

In my opinion, so far none of the changes make Tremulous a better game. The tyrant is already borderline too strong...why give *it* more power?

The MD idea sounds like a failure to me because it destroys half the point of having barricades, which is supposed to be another big woopty doo. It also eliminates a rant stepping in a covering for a fleeing goon...a huge part of this game's teamwork, oh well. Its been eliminated, so Ill lay off it.

The lucy thing...seriously why? now we have further eliminated skill in using/timing the lucy, and it becomes a better spam device. Also tyrants will crush it. I don't understand a single reason for this except noobs' lack of timing. =/

You wanna improve a weapon, take some rounds out of the average pulse clip but increase its speed. I havent seen much effectiveness with a pulse since the rise of unlagged.

I am one player who's not looking forward to 1.2 and all its "improvements" :(

Agree with those luci comments.

I don't want to sound like one of those players that systematically opose to any change, tho. I like most changes in 1.2 excepting those 2 things.

KamikOzzy : someone above said the MD passthrough is not going to be in 1.2.
