Oops, I forgot how to make the one-way wall
« on: June 14, 2008, 03:11:00 am »
You know those walls when they are fully transparent on on side and passable, and on the other side a textured wall that you couldn't pass through, generally saying, one-way walls? I forgot what option it is in and I tried search >.<

Also once when I did put in a one-way wall it's placed in the centre of a square (8-pixeled), so it doesn't seem to fit well with the walls and could be easily seen as a trap, is there any way it could line up with one of the edges of a square?

I once made a cube and made it hollow and then ctrl-z-ed it and when I looked outside it looked normal but when I went inside it was totally transparent, though I still don't know if it is passable like the ATCS glitch build?

Edit: Another thing, how do you make a two-way wall with a texture in it that is passable like Karith?

It's a patch.
To match it up use the surface inspector to shift the texture.
See other topic, removing noclip.
I’m busy. I’ll ignore you later.

I mean I just want to know where noclip is in the toolbar, because before I had it in my last map (but I decided that it wasn't that good with the noclip wall) now time has passed I decide to make another map that needs the noclip, so I just want to know where it (noclip) is. XD

common textures/shaders
what do you mean? I need to know where it is, like file, edit, view, modify, right click somewhere etc

Textures -> common -> "nodrawnonsolid"

If this shader don't work try use patch.

caulk/nodraw should work just as well.

@Red: I have version 1.5.0 which does not have the textures option in my toolbar, the textures window does not show such an option as of "common".

@Daylight: I somehow couldn't be able to see the texture when I pressed the Caulk selection button, just pinkish squares with the word "caulk" backwards on them, any way to do this? I even tried to press hollow; but when I tried ctrl-z it did show the texture but I was worried if it would affect the box I made.

Okay everybody nevermind I just want to know where noclip is (I know, go back to the ugly graphics of walls) where the noclip wall is on the center of an 8x8 square, so.... okay?

Caulk and nodraw are not the same, stop misinforming people.

Just follow the instructions as laid out on the mapping wiki, and you should have a 'fullclip' shader under the 'common' subset of textures.

If you just don't know how to operate Radiant / have basic mapping knowledge, I suggest you read some tutorials first, it will help you a lot.

first of all the link to the wiki for my location does not work, same goes to the rest of the computers in my home, so I have no chance to read the instructions there, and where do I actually find 'fullclip' under 'common' of my textures?

I actually do know how to operate radiant/have basic mapping knowledge, I just forgot where noclip is that's all

I don't mean this, I mean in the past time I read a topic on how to put on noclip with just right-clicking or clicking on file or edit or view or modify, because in my first map that I was going to make but I thought it was bad so I stopped making it but now I forgot where noclip is (I had put a noclip wall on my first map), I really need noclip on my second map that I'm making now.

I just gave you noclip. Noclip aka fullclip is a part of the 'common' set of shaders. If you really have no idea what I am talking about, I suggest you just quit mapping and download the Spore Creature Creator. That way, we can still enjoy your creativity, without the annoyance!

In other words, please explain what the hell you mean. Applying noclip/fullclip is no different than applying whatever texture or shader to whatever surface in Radiant.

hmm, ok so it's not in my radiant? in my last map I made it was there.... I just forgot where it is now for this map.... I saw where noclip was once on the forums but forgot which topic... you know the trap in highrise (one way in no way out)? I am looking for it in my radiant.....

edit: looks like I'm looking for this:
Make all invisible sides "nodraw". But a shadered textur on the other sides with surfaceparm noclip.

Again, if you do not have a firm grasp on the basics of mapping, you should not be mapping at all. If you do not understand that quote from Dasprid, you have no grasp at all on the basics of mapping. I strongly suggest you at least glance at a shader manual, this one might be a good place to start.

HAAALP! I want one too xD but I need help. How do I make a one way wall? How do I make a two way wall with a texture? It's really important for my take-off on both highrise9 and mission_one_b4. But I cant figure it out =(
