recursive error after: menu file not found: ui/volt_menu.cfg, using default

Everytime I try to save the binary to "C:\Program Files\Tremulous\FH\tremulous.exe" That comes up when I try to run tremulous.  I tried extracting the HUD/Menu to my base folder but it did nothing.

Everything was working fine before I got the binary.

David

You should put the binary in C:\Program Files\Tremulous, you don't need the FH.

Did that, now when I go into a server it says my client is out-dated.

David

Which binary do you have?
This: http://trem.tjw.org/backport/ is the one you want.

How long ago?

There are some more up-to-date clients floating around, but I don't know where exactly off the top of my head...

David

Those messages only check for a GUID, so any of TJW's clients will do.

That one probably hasn't been updated recently. Personally, I like Risujin's.

David

What's to update?  Its a client, nothing much can change.

Actually...

Old SVN is incompatible with recent SVN. This is why people using the stock client often get spawning errors on servers with new QVMs. I've had no trouble with Risujin's SVN 911 client.

recent svn is incompatible with old svn, and most servers are compatible with old svn, there is no reason one or the other would get spawning errors, unless it was an unpure server, in which case either could get them if they had vms that weren't compatible with 1.1's menus lying around in base.

Why wouldn't the menus be incompatible? Would they have changed? What would be the point of changing them?

the point of changing them is adding new ones that didn't exist in 1.1
