Getting info for -1 servers!
« on: June 27, 2008, 06:38:54 pm »
I have been having a problem getting a server list.  I set the source for internet and clicked on get new list but still I am not able to see any servers.  I gave tremulous access to the internet and as far as I know I am not having any trouble with my internet access.  I look through most of the other posts on these kinds of problems and still have not found anything that could help.

Look for the file named servercache.dat somewhere in your Tremulous folder. Removing it should solve your problem.

So i removed the servercacher.dat file and I'm still having the same problem.  The file also gets replaced everytime I tried to get a new list.

Well, that has always fixed the problem for me. Try searching the forums for more threads about this subject, since I'm pretty sure there are some threads dealing with this problem.

What firewall do you have?
Some of the crappier windows firewalls try to filter by program etc.
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

It just says Windows Firewall for mine, I put tremulous on the exceptions though so it should let it have access but I could be wrong.  I also turned the firewall off and tried getting servers but that didnt help either.

If you really keep on having trouble with this, you could always try R1CH's Tremulous Server Browser.

Ok I tried the R1CH's browser just now and it said there was an error connecting to the master server, I looked through his posts and didnt find anything about an error connecting with it.

you probably have a firewall denying it internet access.

It is either your personal firewall, your router our your ISP blocking the access.

Yeah that would make sense.  I suppose I can try working around it later on in the weekend. Thank you everybody.
