Tremulous Machinama
« on: June 11, 2006, 11:17:49 pm »
For anyone who doesnt know, machinama is a type of animation using video games. While not invented to be used for halo and halo 2, this is how most people know it, from the series Red vs Blue. There are many more types of games that can be used for machinama, and trem seems almost perfect for it. Think of it this way, a team could be made of a rifle toting rookie, a builder, an experienced guy with a helmet, armor, a jetpack, and a prifle/flamer/mdriver, and a robot (bsuit) with a lucifer cannon. Or it could be alien stories, with varying species working together (goons, tyrants, grangers, etc). For cameras, a spectator could use /cg_draw2d 0 and /cg_drawgun 0 to move around the map and have no interference, and chats could be used to send cues to people (the camera wouldnt see them unelss the console was opened.

Maybe a cartoon will fit better with Trem. We already have a few cartoons on this forum.

I will love to see a Human-Turret Turret-Human love affair.

Paradox, you are so right.  We could do a series called "Captain SkyCamper from the 25th Century" (and then probably get our asses sued off, but hey, whatever).

It would make a pretty cool advert for the game, too.

It seems that there are at least 3 machinima junkies (yes, I watched the _whole_ Seal of Nehahra movie, among others, Blablalicious is crazy).

Yeah, machinima would be fun to do, just you need good writers for it.
