Hey Volt, I'm setting up my new laptop and I've installed your 2.0 on it. I really enjoyed the last version, so I thought I'd try it. Like many other people the darknight is my favorite hud style. Anyway, I'd like to know where I can find/edit any of the auto say binds in your new hud. I love the commands and the way you created it, but I'd really like to be able and change the colors and/or wording in the speaking binds. Maybe customize a bit.

By the way I did this last installation on my new laptop and it's using vista and I've had no problems The only thing I've had to do is the widescreen settings to get it to work on this really wide screen:
/r_mode -1
/r_customwidth 1366
/r_customheight 768

/quit

Note: I've created an installation/GUID guide here for anyone that wants help with that:
http://xenina.blogspot.com/2008/12/tremulous-installation-guide-and-qkey_10.html

Ok. Thanks so much!

~ Xenina[EBSF]

edit: Ok, I just realized that when I binded my 0 key after I set up your hud, I messed up royally, as now the 0 key won't work for any of the preset orders. Instead the 0 key does absolutely nothing once I'm in a submenu (respond, build, admin, etc . . .)  Please tell me I don't have to reinstall the hud to fix that. :P

Did I mention that I love the preset say and build binds? I am especially loving the building ones. :)

You can contact me here or by e-mail or on EBSF's site: http://ebsf.mine.nu/forum/

Thanks again.

the files you need to edit are
Code: [Select]
ui/hud/common/chatmenu_install.cfg
ui/hud/common/chatmenu_alien.cfg
ui/hud/common/chatmenu_human.cfg

try this when you are on a server and for some reason chatmenu dosnt work type this.
Code: [Select]
exec ui/common/chatmenu_instal.cfg
hopfully i have answered you questions, btw if you need a quicker reply next time just send a pm i check my email more than this topic on trem.net, cya.

I'd use the Rave$ version in the options menu. But, there are so many darn error messages when it loads for a map >.<

I rather this HUD over oticz. Though, they are both really great HUDs. Will there be any more versions?

Any yes there will be a new version, but this time it will be a complete ui rework.
Give me some time, some features to keep you eyes out for; ingame hudswaping, independent human and alien huds via cg_alienhud, cg_humanhud.

Also feature request for the next version can go here, or request for hud styles(Please provide some kind of layout) thanks.

there seems to be a bug.... when i set the radar to mini radar, at times the radar resets and there is no radar at all, when i execute my config. I do have some cvars that toggle various radar options. an example being 'cg_disablescannerplane'. any answers?

If its reseting you're are probally playing on a server that has a different base name, once you connect type /exec ui/install.cfg this should load the cvars to your autogen and fix the reset problem, also you can type /seta cg_scanner 2(try 1 if 2 dosnt work).

A couple of (minor) annoyances:
1. Messages appearing big at center of screen (server admin messages, stage advancement, connection interrupted). Would love to move them somewhere else and make them smaller.
2. Could use alien sentience points showing for grangers, like buildpoints appear for human builders.

The command should probably be "/exec ui/install.cfg".

I haven't tried other custom HUDs but this is really cool. Alien crosshair and stage information... mmm. Sometimes the HUD changes back to default when leaving a server. I guess the problem is a modded qvm.

Yeah. It'll change your HUD/name/binds. Fine the Autogen for that QVM and fix it to your likings. I'd just run C:/Program Files/Tremulous/base open Autogen and copy n paste.

..or just make binds that rewrites everything the way you want it like mines.

I based my default binds from the autogen, edited it, and took out the binds for other .cfg's like humans.cfg and aliens.cfg. But that works, if your lazy >.>

not sure that your taking bugs anymore since it says final...
in the hud menu when ever i put my cursor on the effects volume, it highlights the top preview as well. (does this on any hud)
also were the main menu prints its text for info, the hud menu prints there when its open.(i see supple of letters b/n the menu and the preview of  the huds)
i would like to ask if you had if you add 1.6,1.78 supported screen resolutions
1.6 (1680x1050)(using)
1.778 (1920x1080)

I don't know why, but when I enter the command /exec ui/install.cfg It says 'cannot /exec ui/install.cfg. WTF?
cheack if you have the right hud ui in your base. you probably have the wrong hud.

The problem, is most likely caused by you improperly switching huds without first uninstalling the previous one.
I'll list two steps, one being the quick way and the second being the longer.

quick
1.delete your autogen, or edit the command ui_menufiles within your autogen to "something/menus.cfg" to "ui/menus.cfg"

^^if the above is hard to follow, write down the cannot find line, and i'll send a fix for it.
