[SOLVED] Warping
« on: July 27, 2008, 11:48:19 am »
Ok so I just started playing trem again but when I play I seem to warp a lot and I don't know why. I have no downloads running, no programs open, firewall off and cable (only exception to this would be the fact I have a router) and I'm running on streamyx it's fast speed connection where I live. The server I play on belongs to hsp.

do you feel that you are warping yourself or does others tell you that you warp?

Do you have the lagometer active (cg_lagometer 1)? Does it show yellow or red lines?

Others tell me I warp. Like poop.

I'm not sure what a lagometer is and I've never seen any yellow or red lines. I doubt I have a lagometer or if the server has 1 or if I do I probably don't have it on.. the server is supposed to be unlagged though.

Try setting /rate 25000 in the console. Most warping I come across is solved by increasing one's rate.

Bissig told you there how to turn it on; in the console type "cg_lagometer 1" and you'll get a small box that shows your current ping, and a meter showing the different types of lag.  You can tell by the color if the problem is due to your connection, the server, etc.

It can be helpful to leave on so you know if your connection is getting worse, or if someone else in the house just fired up Bittorrent before you jump into a battle.

Ok I'll try all that stuff but I think I just figured out why I warp any way before I checked this today. Thanks for your help.  ;D

You know, I hate it when people post something to the effect of "Problem solved!" and then don't say how they solved it.
