Thx man but then is it realy hard to use to
but thx for the programe
GtkRadiant is what the pros use (IdSoftware guys in house, and I would assume the studios they work with like Ravensoft). You really do want to use it. It's very nicely optimized for the task, and the work flow with it goes very smoothly.
I find it very easy to use. The interface works well, and after running through a 'build a one room map' tutorial, you'll have the basics of the interface down. About the only thing that can be difficult with it is getting the thing setup and working 100%. However, there are forums (including this one) where you can get good help.
So, download it, and work through a
'build a single room' tutorial. This one is for Q3, so either use Q3 to run it if you have it, or if you are using Trem to run it instead of a spawn, you'll need to do a few other things. Make the room bigger, put a human spawn, an alien spawn (put this above the floor, it will fall down when the map starts, there have been problems with it overlapping a brush and exploding when placed directly on the floor in radiant), and three info_ entity brushes, info_player_intermission, info_human_intermission and info_alien_intermission. Those three define where the camera sits when star the map, join the human team or join the alien team. They are all made exactly the same way as the spawn in the tutorial.
Again, use GtkRadiant. It is the right tool for the job. As for tutorials, google is your friend. (I usually work offline, relying on the manual and a few things I've downloaded, so I don't have a ton of links. Other people do, there's a bunch in the other threads around here.)
