Couple newbie Alien questions
« on: June 18, 2006, 05:17:04 pm »
Hey folks...

1) how does an alien deal with flamers? I just can't figure out what we have to kill 'em.

2) Same thing with Bsuits. I have no idea what can kill 'em, they are so damn tough.

3) If humans are camping, what do ya do?

Flamers, jump over them with marauders and slash or zap, snipe with adv goon, this is against reasonable to good flamers. Bad flamers can even be taken out by dretches because they usually just stand there. You could try tyrants but if there is a second person shooting you you're just about dead.

Tyrants, goons, adv goons, adv marauders. All in the tactics and skill. No surefire way.

Weaken their base or pick off stragglers. In no way do I advise a full on attack because most people just can't get a team together. A good team however will pick apart even a camping team.
I’m busy. I’ll ignore you later.

Yeah...that's what we did last night. We just hid around their base and every time they strayed, charged 'em. But a few of us got too aggressive, and gave 'em kills to rank up :(.

How do you weaken their base? I don't see how you could get in, destroy something, and get out without dying.

Adv marauders slash do more damage and have more health. You can use normal goons but normal marauders usually are not capable to take out a bs on their own in the timespan it requires the human to reach reinforcements.

Take out turrets one at a time and retreat, not an entire line; most bases have a way in that is less guarded. Draw the humans away from it, destroy the remaining defences and do some damage and retreat again; marauders can enter and exit almost all bases without too much damage while killing people that spawn or are on the medpad.

hmm...How many slashes to kill a turret with a marauder?

And I was on Transit...there were two ways to their base, but they were both narrow corridors guarded by multiple machine guns and other things.

1. Flamer vs Dretch -> Leave him alone
                   Basilisk -> Leave him alone
Marauder -> jump above him and claw his head either leave him wait for tyrants
Dragoon -> Snipe him, or if not adv. pounce on him chomp head then run back regen hp and pounce again, mostly they run to base but you can try
Tyrant -> Just slash him 2-3 times he wont deal you even 1/2 dmg if you charge him

2. Bsuit vs Dretch -> prefably leave him alone seek for non armored humans
Basilisk -> run around untill you will grab his back, jump on him and swipe head unless you will end him
Marauder -> Jump above him again and again using zap or swipe
Dragoon -> Quite hard to kill him solo, you can try to snipe him then chomp, or chomp and run to safety then attack him again when healed a bit
Tyrant -> No problem, 3 swipes and mauled just charge him and attack with no wait, unless he got Lucifer Cannon

3. Humans camp - Never rush their base, waiting you got 1 evo per 2:00-3:00 and they will be bored and rush alien base for points just wait for them

Hmm. What makes a marauder so good at jumping + attacking heads? Couldn't a basilisk do that too?

And I don't think you need to jump for a headbite. You can get one from the gruond.,

Marauders can jump a lot higher than basiliscks, so if you are fighting a flamer is less likely to get hurt. + you can just jump over-lookdown-claw and make some serious damage.

Basilisks also don't have as much health, and they grab when you bite, not to mention that they don't bite as hard as I would care for.

Flamer vs. marauder - you can make the flamer burn himself with well-timed jump. Just run straight for him and when you reach the end of flames, jump. You'll fly low over his head bouncing some flames back to him. And don't forget to bite his head too. Flamer without helmet is dead right on the spot, flamer with helmet can't stand more than 3 attacks without using medkit. Also try to heal a little between attacks because you get hurt a lot.

Bsuit vs. dretch - if he has flamer, keep away, otherwise bite him once or twice, when he tries to shoot you, start wallwalking like mad and keep biting once in a while. When you bite, always stay on ground and aim high for head.
Basilisk - run as fast as you can, bsuiters can turn freely even when grabbed from behind.
If my answer to your problem doesn't seem helpful, it means I won't help you until you show some effort to fix your problem yourself!
1.2.0 release's been delayed for 5:48:00 already because of stupid questions.

yeah, basilisks are kinda handy for pinning bsuits for the bigger aliens to kill. Just if FF is on your teammates are more likely to kill you than the bsuit.
