Howdy guys,

As you can see by popular demand I have created this subforum for community generated (non map/mod) "stuff".

Mostly I see this as a nice place for people to post the things they have made such as stories, comics, and music that are specifically for tremulous. I would appreciate it if non-tremulous related media stays in off topic.

I think it'll be cool to see more stories and comics and so I encourage you guys to get those pens (keyboards) out and start writing and drawing!

Also, I've done a quick perusal around the forums for threads that seemed appropriate for this board. If I have moved your thread here, and you don't think it belongs here, lemme know! Also if you guys see some threads around the rest of the forums that should be here, please reply to this topic with the appropriate links and they will get moved.

Enjoy this new subforum!

Seems cool! Question though: should 3d models be included in here? Or should they stay in Level Reviews & Releases?

Since when do models full under the category of 'Tremulous Lore'?

In other words:

Do they fit into 'lore'? Well if the models are part of some story regarding tremulous, I don't see why not. Such models might be made by one person and used as part of a film or comic by someone else (prefferably after getting thier permission). The real question is would there be enough of these resources to warrant a resource section? Maybe in the future, but for now the best place for resources might be here.

Anyhow, as far as khalsa seems to have defined it, models fit well within this section. It's 'community generated (non map/mod) "stuff"'.

models f[ai]l under the category of 'Tremulous Lore'!

a.) since there is no models subforum (so why not)

b.) since the purpose of rendering them might vary (comic, high poly, to help drawing stuffs, etc.)

good job Khalsa!

time to dig more of l'Or!

It occurs to me that this new section might not be obvious enough. The link to it looks very similar to the 'latest post' link and might be treated as such.

In case this section is found to be under-used, I point to this misleading link as the culprit and not any lack of interest in fan fiction/art.

I suggest an obnoxiously explicit link and many, many arrows pointing to said link.

Also, would you mind explaining the arrow-link to the right of 'child boards' and the left of 'Tremulous Lore'? It seems to link to unread topics in this area. This isn't clear either.

I think that for this board to grow, it needs to be a bit of a nurturing environment. People should not need to be professional artists in order to contribute here. That's not to say that the worst MSPaint submissions and furry tyrant slashfic stories should be showered with praise, but generally reasonable submissions shouldn't have a bunch of guys that crap on them negatively and nonconstructively for small imperfections. I hope that mods will try to keep people with such tendencies in check.

IMO, there aren't enough guilds to warrant a new subforum of clans with 2-3 threads in it. :)

Nux et.al.: Never bother Lava Croft with logical thinking ::)

Models etc. are great, for I have seen a lot of "non player models" in the form of statues that look awesome! I think this forum encourages people presenting this awesome stuff without actually having to fit it into a map.
I have retired from Tremulous. Definetely. If you play a game just because it has become a habit, but u'r only feeling like a kindergarten teacher - well, maybe I am just getting too old (hell, I was a teenager when DukeNukem3D was *new*) - it's probably not a bad idea to just let it be. And I do.

Don't take this personally. Have fun, guys.

Yes, mods: I know you are dealing with many things at once, but the info for the written lore section is: "Community Generated Art, Stories, Comics, and other media"

You'll probably want to change that.
