lets face the facts people. basilisk's suck. why the fuck would people waste 2 evos to be a big crawly thing that has breath so bad it hurts the humans. seriously. they are too big making them easily spotted. they move to slow giving the humans a big chance to strike at the large target. and they suck at attacking giving the human another chance to kill the basi. there is however. they are almost the same size as a marauder but they suck 10X more. they are allot brighter than the marauder making them 10X more easily spotted. the fact that they have to get right to a human to actually grab onto them sucks. the fact that once they grab onto a human, all the humans teammates go apeshit and attempt to kill the clinging basi by killing their teammate sucks. for both the aliens and the humans. i was once in a situation where i was a dretch, watching the mayhem from the roof. a basi grabbed a human and bit him once. then a stupid human ran in, threw a grenade on his buddy and all 3 of them died.

there is a solution to the basilisk's suckage however. lots of people have had lots of ideas. a larger area of poison breath so it hits more humans. making them smaller, faster and darker so they don't have four hundred million bullets in their heads by the tie they reach the human.

i am here to add yet another basilisk solution to the already expansive list. flying. we all know that once a jettard gets high enough in ATCS, he is almost impossible to hit. except of course for the adv goon's sniping. :dragoon:. if the basi could fly also, but maintain its sucky speed and colour, but perhaps do slightly more damage and fly, these jettards would become a thing of the past. simply get a basi to fly up and smash the prick. shows him not to be a wuss and actually incorporate some real skill into the game.

the basi's would also become useful when those stupid humans have blocked the entire corridors with turrets  :turret: and telsa's :tesla:. they would just fly right over the puny human structures and annihilate the scared-shitless humans. this could extremely useful in larger maps where it can be difficult to actually reach the human base.

this is yet another idea for the basilisk solution and i am aware of the fact that it would be extremely difficult to remap the entire basilisk and add wings to it, making it so the basilisk does more damage, making the basilisk be able to grab the human from above, etc etc.


PS: for anyone who will say that basi's will just replace jettards, the solution is as follows:
basi's must grab a human and cannot shoot from afar.

Hmm, If you need so much time to kill a grabbed human, that another one can run to you, drop a grenade and wait until it goes off you may have done something wrong. And for the flying basilisk you don't need wings, you could just add some large knockback to the basi gas, and it could be used like jet engine. :laugh:
On the other I would really miss the skycamping humans in ATCS, I always love when they drop out of the sky after some goon ate their poorly defended RC while they were jettarding instead of actually defending their base (or even better attacking the alien base).

This is not a new idea. If memory serves flying aliens will not be added to tremulous(evah!).

As for your statement that basilisks suck... They have their own niche and they fill it nicely. In stage 1 i prefer basilisk to goon and would rather fight a good goon then a good basilisk.

Stop trying to fix the game... fix your play style.  :D

this is just my personal opinion. i hardly EVER see any basi's at all. i presume this is because people dont like them. when i see a basi it normally dies quickly. btw i wasnt the basi, i was watching from above :).

PS: my playing style is fine. while i am still learning the ropes, i am just pointing out what i think is wrong with the game or what could be made even better.

Totally agree with that. Once in a CW, the other team had a guy whose skills with the basilisk were so perfect that he could face a bunch of rifles or shotguns without even receiving more than 2 shots. And having in mind that you just need 1 evo to evolve into a basi...

Basilisk is hard to master, and a really stupid creature under a newbie's hands. But I know some players which, as I said before, are really scary with it.

im not good as lisking myself, but i know plenty who are. To me, both maras and lisks are pro tools, i can get kills with them, but when a good player uses them they decimate the humans :p

The point is, lisks should stay. And theres already a thread on flying aliens

1. Basi does not cost two evos
2. If you had ever seen the player "ExistentialRisk" pwning EVERYONE with his awesome basi skills you would know how fucking wrong you are
3. Gotta learn Basi same way as any other class: practice, practice, practice
