I'd prefer another in the list of forum front page to a child board. If child board has new posts it shows that the board it's in has. And no info about what was posted on forum front page.

UsaKilleR:As you can see from Lava's post, there are certain particularly vocal critics of the idea of even allowing mod concept threads to be posted at all (and then usually not-too-subtly derailed, spammed, flamed and locked). I certainly don't think that a place for simple mod concepts deserves to be a major sub-forum. Do you really need to immediately know that there has been a new post there? These child boards are the backwaters of the Trem.net community, where kindred souls can find each other, without clogging up the main boards too much. I think if people are really interested in new Trem fan-fiction or new Trem mod concepts, they would know where to look for such things, or quickly figure it out.

mod LC: The only thing about a foolproof solution is the inexhaustable supply of fools. Sure, you've crushed my spirit, and I only post about one Type Ten Thread a year now, but what of the fresh faces you've yet dominate? Surely someday you'll tire of this and simply diverting them to their own ghetto will be easier, no? In all, thanks for succinctly saying exactly what I thought you'd say: "NFW & stop being stupid". P.S. Considering that people will post such threads anyway, can we at least get a couple of the other moderators to comment on the suggestion, and direct members to the appropriate sub-forum for such threads (My Mod Idea-type new topics)? The reactionary wing of the party has spoken. How say you others, oh bearers of badges? Whereto with yon Type Ten Threads?
