Windows people should update their systems now

Just a public notice to get the word out a little more quickly:

Windows update is going to start whining at you today. Unlike most of the time, you should listen to it, because this one is basically the worst one in years. If the fact that they were inclined to push it out now instead of waiting for Tuesday doesn't convince you, the info links at the bottom probably will.

Do note that there are several worms already exploiting this in the wild, so do it ASAP. This bug probably was already known in certain hacker groups (0day exploit) so you may already be infected.

Hmm, I have someones Notebook here which stopped booting up successfully the end of the last week. The rescue partition software told me that several files are corrupt. I copied them over from the rescue partition and now it is jelling at me "Windows could not determine the source of the error(-s)". BCD looks alright.

Well, if I wouldn't get money for it I'd never again touch a Windows system ;-)

Yeah, thanks. I'd probably have gone days without downloading this if you hadn't pointed it out.
Stop it. Seriously.

And this is more important than the 500 other security fixes per day... because?
The links provided gave information on what the issue solves, but the fault doesn't seem any more important than usual...

Except it is a 0-day exploit which allows the complete take over of your windows installation (not only desktops, servers too)

Hrm...

My ISP was down for several hours today, and my pal the l33t Windows tech guy had to reinstall Windows today. Hard day at the intarwebz for teh Winders users, or completely coincidental and purely anecdotal?
