Tremulous on Teamspeak?

Hey people. I was playing trem yesterday and the team was doing a lot of important talking. As most of you know, trying to rip humans up while jumping, running from lucis and flames, and typing is damn near impossible. So as I was playing another game that the team was on Teamspeak with, I thought, I wonder if trems got its own server. So I went into the TS server list but didnt find anything directly saying tremulous. So Ive come to ask if theres any servers for trem. Thanks in advance.

It would be cool if we had a built in Voice Chat protocal.

You can bind common sentences to the keyboard modifying autogen.cfg or creating some other cfg files (see the topic "config fest")

For example here's my talk.cfg (I'm still working on it):

I would use it, but the problem would be, that the server would need a channel for each trem server, and then two subdevisions for each channel, a human one and an alien one. Thats easily doable with TS 2, so why not?

I fear it'd need to be built in to recognize who is on what team, so you can't just join the alien chat as a human and go ahead and just type in what they're devising on your teamchat in-game. Or am I confused as to how it works?

tru but cant we have it this way? Admin monitors Game,at start of each game Admin issues new password to ALien and human chat.once people are settled into their teams admin give password to each team. or we could just have an admin monitor the chat.as for there not being any admins around there should atleast be teamspeak admins that dont have the rights to kick ingame but can kick from TS.

I'm admin of all [DB@] servers, so i can admin those TeamSpeak channels if needed/wanted, but it would be hard to moniter both + playing the game yourself, so i don't really know what to do  :-?   .

We decided to open the doors of our TS2 for everyone. Due the next Days I will create a lot of new channels and after that it'll be possible to play together via Teamspeak on the db@servers.

I don't think that it is meant as a competition. People started asking us about TS weeks ago and the discussion about opening our TS has been going on for a while now.
There has been a threat in our internal forums and clan management has given approval for the project yesterday, that's all.

Mr.Hanky is taking care of reorganizing our Teamspeak server and will keep you informed about what's going on. I guess there will be no real competition as db@ is located in Europe as are most of our guests. Having a TS server in EU and one in US is not bad in my eyes.

I have an automatic TeamSpeak channel switcher that you can download from http://www.mavit.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/et-teamspeak/.  It was originally written for Enemy Teritorry but it works with Tremulous too.

Of course, because it's client-side, it won't stop people deliberately joining the wrong channel, but it can stop people from just being in the wrong channel by accident.

If people listening in to their opponent's channel becomes a real problem, then it would be a simple matter to grab a list of players on the Tremulous server with qstat and kick players from the TeamSpeak channel using tsControl if their nick doesn't match.

We have no language limitation on our servers... if you speak english, we will, too...
But when there are only german and netherlands players around that are comfortable with german, that is the language spoken, of course... guess it's the same with french when three french players are around.

But as I said before, it can only be good to have teamspeak servers on both continents!

yea, i dont dislike germans/europeans/other side of the sea'rz but i just lag pretty badly on all there servers and dont understand em (if they dont speak english)

Beer Garden Has A Teamspeak that is back online.. while everyone is welcome, we dp have a few extra ports we can setup a few other servers on additional ports if needed.. just let me know.  I'm sure we can arrange channels for everyone though.

I have played BF2 and BF2142 for a while and the voice over IP thing is used alot. The only problem with it in those games is that is is limited to each squad. I think that if a universal built in voice chat was added to the next version of tremulous that it would be widely used, and greatly help team play.

The french community has one, it's but up for some time and there's almost always people on it. Especially when there's clanwars and stuff.
