opp isn't on the list because they tie EVERYONE

Once again, that screenie was taken 20 min in the vR scrim where they freely admit they camped the whole game because they were trying something knew. We ended up winning anyways so why do you keep bringing up that card?

We win almost all our scrims and we only tie the ones where the other clan has just as much experiance as wee do. >< is full of skilled members that know how to scrim and work well together so yes, we tend to tie them. NT as the same way. So was Zubs. and ect. We dont camp to tie. Our scrims tie usually because  one clan wins a round, then the other clan wins a round.

Also we camp just as much as other clans camp in scrims. We try to change that in to not camping at all but shit happens.

I dont understand why you are hatting on OPP... you are probably the NoMoneyinthePot dude that is flaming everyone as well.

Kaine and to everyone else, i am sorry for being defencive and what not but i just dont understand why people are hatting on OPP when tehy have no good reason too.

Dragula

Not trying to rain on anybody's parade, but I just don't think of OPP as being so fit for top 5 of all time. Yeah they don't lose many scrims, mostly they manage to play conservatively and passively enough to tie and because of that I don't find them that dominating. It's just hard for me to take OPP seriously when all I see them as is a group of friends who have been in a clan together so long that their acquired teamwork tact outweighs their average individual skill levels. It's pretty much always the same people plus the occassional new member who fits in with that kind of group, and these facts in my eyes puts them into a different category all their own on the outskirts of the clan scene. Without a doubt, though, the most steady clan.

Tried hard to make that not sound hater.

*not trying to attack your opinion or anything because i probably dont fully understand it*

But from what i got out of that is that OPP isnt really a clan because we are all friends and have been friends and use teamwork to much therefore we arnt a clan.
Individual Skill does not make a clan good.
A clan is a group of players fighting together. Not 1 person fighting.
I would understand what you said more if you said that if the topic was 'Top 5 Tremulous Players' and i was defending a OPP member... but not when we are talking about clan's as a whole, not individual players then your reasoning is kinda illogical.

But when you said "mostly they manage to play conservatively and passively enough to tie and because of that I don't find them that dominating."

I understand that to a point. We do play conservativly and passively, we arnt the most agressive clan, but we dont camp to do that. Also 'enough to tie' means we tie the rounds most of the time. Which we normaly win a round / lose a round, making the scrim a Tie. But if 'dominating' clans can't beat us while we dont camp more then any other clan, i dont understand why  that doesnt count for anything.

Hey it's cool... chalk it up to a misunderstanding.  I haven't listed my top 5 of all time yet, so here's my attempt, in no particular order.

Zilla
Zubs
NT
OPP
SGA

And I'm not sure what "produde"s issue is, but he clearly has something against OPP.  Perhaps his application was rejected at one time or another?

Evil_Bunny

i don't think of this as anyway to actually rank a clan, obviously people are gonna choose differently based on there experiences and what they've seen/heard, so don't go freaking out if you think someone has chosen wrongly for there list, it's basically the same as people choosing there favorite sports team, they probably won't just choose they best by what the team's stats are

Evil_Bunny

Sorry but this picture made me rofled!  ;D

Sea Of Eternity

so is it a character card or tactics/action card :P ?

how much for it!? :O
lol

Kaine

Special Edition card, only 3 of them ever produced.

It's worth roughly 2000 credits, but if they ever come out with holographic one, it could just be priceless.

_Equilibrium_

Really, no one should rally argue about anyone else's list. This topic is extremely opinionated. So many factors count towards different people's list: friendliness, skill, fun, euro/american, etc. Different people care about different things when thinking of their top 5.

Serdinho

He is right! Everybody has his own opinion, which should be respected. So attacking each other is useless :)

Twofacedrat

I am completely fine wit people state their opinion... But when people flame about meh clan for no good reason i shall be defensive :P.

And im sorry Dragula, i didnt mean to attack what you had to say, i was just confuzziled :P.

Yahoo

the only three that dominated while they were around, and coincidentally made the clan scene dry up until they disbanded
sga
zilla

duck-o-destruction

I disagree.  Zilla didnt make the clan scene dry up.

The other two did...

CU was an even match with SGA in my opinion.
Zilla actually helped the clan scene, as more and more clans were interested with scrims.
The only reason no one wanted to play AA is because it was guaranteed at least a 2 hour match.

StevenM

The problem with CU is alot of the members did not care much for scrimming. We just enjoyed being on TS with eachother, going into a server joining some teams and having some challenging games against one another. I think thats why it has been able to survive for as long as it has. It wasn't based on just one game or scrimming. It was just cool dudes chilling on TS and keeping in touch through the forums. Thats what i think the tremulous scene lacks, to many ppl just hop from clan to clan. No sense of comradery or loyalty. But heres my top 5 anyways:

SGA
CU
Xil/{V}
Zilla
AA
></NT

Yeah CU in its prime had a rly nice lineup: DarkWolf, Phreak, The Reverend, DoorSlammer, StevenM, AllmondBros, Centipede, just to name a few. Unfortunately we never got the chance to scrim together. Oh wells :D.

_Equilibrium_

cephas and ams were pro too mans.

Kaine

@StevenM:  I'm awed by your total lack of comprehension of the word "five."

Seriously though.  Betwen the two different "Top Five" threads, I've seen people listing 10, 8, 6, 3, ect... what the fuck people, it's elementary math.

StevenM

You're right Kaine, forgive me. Here's the edited version:

SGA
CU
Zilla
AA
></NT - to me they are the same, minus 2 or 3 members so.

St. Anger

To say SGA and CU were an even match is a joke.

How do: Darkwolf, The Reverend, Phreak, StevenM, Allman, Centipede, DoorSlammer, and Ams compare to

TerrorEast, Stasis, Yahoo, Dima, St. Anger, Orc, Lee, Pottsdam, LeStrange

-@ StevenM yes SGA did scrim CU before, unless when you said "together" you meant CU's lineup in it's prime.

Evil_Bunny

anger, im guessing you're not thinking about how good: Darkwolf, The Reverend, Phreak, StevenM, Allman, Centipede, DoorSlammer, and Ams were

maybe the few times you've seen them since they aren't as good, but they did compare to :
TerrorEast, Stasis, Yahoo, Dima, St. Anger, Orc, Lee, Pottsdam, LeStrange

maybe not Orc, and i think your forgetting that Dima was once in CU aswell, iirc.

Yea that is true, but considering 2 of our players were from europe and lagged was used, i wouldn't say that was a fair judgement of CU's skill.

What's funny is you're the one who probably has it backwards. Back THEN, DarkWolf and StevenM really weren't that good at all. They got good after {SGA} had collapsed, Phreak, Ams,and Reverend were ok, but they didn't compare to any of SGA's members. Same goes for Allman, Centipede, and DoorSlammer.

-Actually DoorSlammer was just terrible.
