Help! Something is wrong
« on: November 23, 2008, 03:49:52 pm »
I downloaded the zip version of the game because I can;t run the installer. So I installed the standalone and ran the game but then when I press play, another screen comes up but I have no clue what i am supposed to do here cuz there is nothing on the lists. I also downloaded the other 2 zip files, but can someone tell me where i am supposed to extract them to.

Click the thing that says "LAN" or "Local" until it says "Internet".

Next time, please search.

You only need the latest version (1.1.0). The others are the mod files for Quake 3.

Also I advise you to use a client like Tremfusion which gives you new features, bugfixes and http download.
I also advise you to download the Server Browser and a custom hud(recommended, but not necessary)

It is always good to help someone new so don't be afraid to ask other questions, however do search for the answers first before posting.
This is a common problem and it is even explained in the FAQ.

Anyhow,
Welcome to Tremulous! I hope you enjoy your stay.  ;D

@Mods

This should be moved to "Troubleshooting"

It generally makes sense to not install any of that stuff or change client until the default stuff works.  Just adds more confusion and makes it harder to find where the problem is.
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

I'm disappointed that people's past actions have forced me to state what should be obvious.
