What does christianity have to do with any music genre, except maybe for the dressing style of the band and the moronic lyrics?
*sigh* here we go again...
With you on this one.
Underoath, The Devil Wears Prada, Haste The Day, Whitechapel, August Burns Red, As I Lay Dying, Parkway Drive and I Killed The Prom Queen.
Christian metal is awesome. What they lack in lyrics, they make up for in brutality. Sure, it might not be everyones cup of tea, but I like the fact that they're able to do what they love, play metal, and not really give a shit about what people think of them (christian metal is despised by most). A lot of people discard it, without really paying much attention to it. Christian metal is the same as any other metal, just with different lyrics.
And incase anyone was wondering, they still basically stick to the metal genre. It's not all: "God is great, I want to marry him". In fact, it's more along the lines of: "Life's shit, people are shit, I need Gods help". Don't diss it until you've actually listened to the music.
PS: I don't like to put labels on metal. Technically, everything comes under the genre of 'heavy metal'. Black Sabbath is heavy metal, Cannibal Corpse is heavy metal. All of it is heavy metal. Except Polka Metal, that shit makes it's own fucking genre.
