With shaders (surfaceparm slick) ofc, you should already have a 'slick' shader in common.

Keep in mind that surfaceparm slick disables wallwalking.

thats what i want...
but if i do the thing in common, wont it be all ghetto looking? or do i just make the shader out of it, then make one side a cool texture?

It won't be "all ghetto looking" because it's a common shader, and therefore, "invisible" ingame.

Keep in mind that surfaceparm slick disables wallwalking.
Also take into consideration that this feature (slick) is useful for skyboxes that are accessible by the alien team, but shouldn't be wall-walkable. Take of the open area in Karith, for example.

I've noticed that they are also full clip, so shooting at them will result in a seeming random bullet impact.

That's actually the solidslick shader, which acts like player clip, but isn't wallwalkable, and projectiles can pass through.

And I was letting him know so that, if he has a skybox that is accessible by the alien team, he can slick it to avoid them running around on it like in Hamunaptra.

A shader with the following lines:

surfaceparm slick
surfaceparm noimpact

Will create a slick solid surface that does not produce impacts.

Yes, it will remain invisible unless you include a map{} section.

You have no idea what a shader is :( You should read more guides:
Trem mapping guide
Shader manual
Useful mapping links

Not helpful? The first link (which you should have fully read before asking questions) has a section with basic description on what shaders are, 2nd has everything about shaders. 3rd link is for more interesting guides which you may need.

this kid really doesn't use anything he's given. bummer.

just take the solidslick shader or whichever you want from common, copy it to your shaderfile and add a map {} section to give it a nice texture. maybe chrome if you're making a slide? 8D
