Hello. I know most of you may think "USE THE ******* SEARCH BUTTON" but I have already done so. Also, some of you may think "GET A ******* LINUX", but i have a Mac, and love it. If those are your immediate responses, I dont need them. My problem is over my tremulous server, Tremulous For All. I have a number of admins, and many people play. (not many, usually 1-10) My problem is this. I have two firewalls, one built into my Linksys Router, the other built into my operating system. I connect to the internet via either Built-In ethernet, or Airport, which is wireless. I think some of my problem is that when other people nearby, (ie friends) connect, it changes my LAN IP address. Therefore, it makes it so that my port forwarding goes to the wrong computer, or no computer. I have 3 computers, and friends frequently bring theres. This is a major problem.
I think there may be another problem also, maybe involving the ''!listplayers'' command. 5 times this week, directly after usage of the "!Listplayers" command, my server shut down. It was working fine last week! Whats wrong?? Plz help me.

What's bad is that I knew what it was about before I even went and looked.. and wow, this makes post 452, where has the time gone :P
Questions:
1) Is it as simple as adding the new row to the users table for this to work?
2) What will happen with existing nicks in the database? Will it merge them properly, say, if I login with one name and /name to the aliases I'd used in the past?
If I'm reading it right, and I add the row to the table, then since it's blank it'll treat someone as if they're a new player since they had no GUID stored before and now have one

I''m making a tremulous interactive comic. goes for web, free as a virgin. 4+4 teams, got the roles for each. I got the story and the sketches, but I'd love to present some real persons in the comice from the TREMULOUS HALL OF FAME.

I reserve the HUMAN FEEDER position for myself, by the right of the creator (and for known reasons for all of u who have seen me), but I NEED sugestions for the names for the other players.
I would prefer if all players would be from different trem-loving natioins from all over the world.
So, c'mon, and tell me who is ur favourite PRO, GEEK, FEEDER, and NOOB in the GAME and LET ME KNOW!!!
weheheh, i started with making a comic and now i am doing comic. i couldn'T do the trem comic only the southp4wn, but as my present one will include trem, and it seems that i found a sponsor to continue it so i hope i can manage it now. but i don't need the name advices now, i got to know much of the community to be sure what heads i wanna stick :-)

Apparently it's gone. What I mainly remember is that it was after my first few games of beta tremulous and about the disorienting feeling alien wallwalk at first and the fear that a good alien player could instill on you if saw a red dot appearing on the helmet radar (damn you norf).

The idea of a sphere, or in the trapper's case, a cone, is a good idea.
Would turret spheres be obstructed by walls or existing structures?
And would acid tube spheres be truly circular?
Other than some technical questions, its a brilliant idea.
I want to see an old-timer or two post here.

A game as good as tremulous deserves better forum icons than the default. If enough people think it is a good idea for new icons, i could make some, and then is is up to the admins to impliment them or not.

I'm pretty new to mapping and i'm wondering how to do phong shading on a terrain (if im not mistaken, it's the thing that simulates roundness on flat surfaces).
Could someone please give me a quick example or point me to a guide (i couldnt find one x_x) please?

hello im new to the world of coding. i found source code for a qvm online somewhere and i modified some variables in tremulous.h... now how do i compile it?
ive used Linux before so i know about using make and patch. but it doesn't make anything.
perhaps its because i use Mac and nothing mainstream works on Mac? ???

I think aliens should be able to go through their barricades, so they don't trap for example tyrants. That's one reason why I don't build them sometimes. The barricades should also have a bit more health. It would also be nice if humans had somekind of laser poles. When you build two, they create a laser fence between them. The laser fence let's humans go through like alien barricade. Although the laser fence could be a bit unbalanced. Who knows...

Yes, yet another newbie has a problem.
I have finished following the instructions for installing GtkRadiant 1.4 from the wiki (http://tremmapping.pbwiki.com/) but whenever I try to start it up I get the following error window:

When you're a dretch look up when you go after the humans. Make sure you are looking at their head so that the bites count as headshots. You can kill humans very quickly by just looking up.

This clan's aims are to get/increase the Tremulous building abilities of its members and to have fun. This clan is not ment to have only or mainly "1337" players, it helps both averange and newbies to better their building skills.
So I'm looking for anyone who is interested in joining a clan and better their skills in building. No matter if they are already good or are still learning. They don't have to be "addicted" to the clan like some others do and require, but it would be nice having a well flowing activity.
I've got a forum up already, mostly as a member's listing and contacting way, but also for other things related to the clan.
Here is the link s1.zetaboards.com/dCb/index dCb clan forum. It isn't yet perfectionized, but it has already what is should need.
Also, if anyone is interested and can host a server for the clan, it would be great. PM me if you wish.
(If you are wondering why the clan name has different order than the tag, its because ive seen already a dbc tag)

before I disconnected from a game I noticed my ping,was....about 102 or so.I don't know if this is high,but every time I tried to enter a game it said,server is for low pings only.how i fix?

When you are logged in, there is a nice "Quote" button on the right hand top of each post. Even if you are in the wrong thread, you can click on "Quote" and you will get a "Post Reply" type form (unless that thread is locked, or in the Compost Heap), in which you may enter additional text. SMF will automagically provide the necessary code for the quote and the link to the post. Simply "Select All" (on a Mac it's CMD-A) of the message of the post (the main body of text in the big box), and copy (on a Mac CMD-C), or cut (CMD-X) the text, along with the quote-link code. Now you can just hit the "Back" button, and not use the form (you don't hit "Post", you just back away from it).
Then navigate to the thread in which you wish to enter said quoted post (you could even have it on a separate tab). Hit "Reply". When you are greeted by the appropriate "Post Reply" form, simply paste (CMD-V) the copied or cut quote-link and text into the body of the post, change the subject header to something witty, add whatever comment you'd like to make and hit "Post" in that thread.
Congratulations. You've learned something new today. Try it; you just may enjoy the newfound sense of power. Just don't forget about the great responsibility part.
