but you know if someone damaged your relocator and you tried to use it then you would die
plus I can imagine aliens waiting near your relocator

What's MAC stand for?


Media Access Control, it's a hardware address that's meant to be unique to every networking device (a NIC, a router, a DSL modem, etc...). So theorteically ban-by-MAC should block a user until they grab a new peice of hardware.

But.... MACs are readily spoofable in all OSs so ban-by-mac is utterly useless unless the greifer being banned is the n00best of the n00bs.


Anyway, ideas for v1.2, aside from bugfixen and any balance issues:

1. Alien choppers (as in HUD claw models, not helicopters or penises)
2. Weapon reload animations.
3. Damage given/taken on scoreboard including buildings.
4. Class/species specific gibs and blood decals.
5. Ponies!!1!.

My £0.02 is in the pot...

One thing i would like to see is multiple choices for crosshairs, option to change their colors, and size. i would also like to see a type of text commands like in cs, bf2 ect. eg radio commands.

that is unless voice is a optional thing to put in.

AA has that too, IE you hit 'g' then hit a number, and '0' to go to next page, or 'g' again to change the type IE radio, shout, wisper

AA also has the different types of crosshair, that's cool!
Also, are there going to be like.. the mike thing? Where you can talk through mike? Or if that's the question Bazuka asked, then ignore this.

There should be also like... introduction, or a movie at the beginning of the game, not "click in the game, go to the game already, not knowing anything."
There should be tutorial IN the game, it'd be better if it is animated. Like Starwars Clonewars (there, I said it again)

A voice menu would be really nice... as for crosshairs, optional, but the included hairs are pretty good (although i'm a fan of >< crosses... better when sniping :) )

I think they should have an "alien homeworld" type map.  The human maps are fun and all, but I'd like to see something less civilised in terms of maps.  For example, jungle, ruins, underground etc

And possibly training?

No, I don't agree with this. It's just not how the Quake III engine works, and besides, it's getting a bit messy.

Yes, maybe different gametypes would be good, but I think that the uniqueness of Tremulous' gametype is too good to pass up.

Log-ins are horrible, slow and rather pointless.

Radio commands would be a very good addition, and should really be considered... Yelling 'Come on!' as the main means of communication besides typing gets boring :D

Alien VS Alien and Human VS Human (Maybe even Alien&Human VS Alien&Human? Heh) would be pretty cool... I'd like the human VS human idea especially, adding some even, non-run-for-your-freakin-life-all-the-time-or-you'll-get-raped-by-aliens combat would be nice. It would probably bring along a few game types with it if that happened too.

I don't really think they'll add more weapons... it'd unbalance everything, and they said they wouldn't. But a portal gun would be cool (If you haven't heard of Portal search it on youtube.com NOW), and wouldn't unblanace it that much, as you could make it so that aliens can travel through the portals humans make if they get to it quick enough... I dunno.

Anyway, I'm sure they've probably already decided what they're going to put in it. :)

I also wish they'd do flying aliens simply because they said NEVER and so many new people have been shot down with their flying alien ideas... still don't like flashlights!

I also would seriously like a new game mode or two.. be creative.. maybe a capture type of thing where you sit in a spot and get evo points for sitting there... the group that gets the most points in the time limit wins.. your basic/capture zones thing.. some special stipulations would have to be made because of how humans and aliens work.. but i think some restrictions would work.. like BP/reactor/om is tied to the points.. you can build like 2 or 3 turrets per spot or so, and never make a reactor anywhere.. or the spot could work like an OM and aliens have to be near a spot to actually evolve.... its an idea.. best one i can come up with..
ALso.. pink bunnies.. see which team can kill pink bunnies fastest.. you get points ONLY for bunnies.

I would like to have the ability to put reasons for votekicks, so that it shows up next to the vote and no one has to ask "why?"

Making it mandatory would be even better :D

EDIT: It would be really nice to be able to change your vote, too.

new structures. I was just playing and I thought "New structures".

And mabey manual upgrade whereby you have to collect points as a whole and then manually upgrade/evolved the whole team.

I think just having a few more voice commands would help, I was thinking:
R - "Return to base" (Global sound - As if over commlink)
F - "Follow me" (Local sound - As if the character said it)
G - "Grenade!" (^Ditto^) (Is this already bound to "itemact gren"?)

VOIP commands would be nice, but in the short term, just some extra commands would be enough to enhance tactical play.

The cmon sound is extremely useful for coordinating raids... when it's too much trouble to type.
I would really like to play a HvH game... although AvA could be interesting for dretch wars  :O

How about when an alien is on the roof, his model is actually upside down instead of rightway up. If that isn't true, it looks like it on my computer. Also, maybe we could have the wall crawling set for one type of wall (I mean, roof, left wall, right wall, ground) because it can get a bit messy.[/i]

I use it to try to get humans to follow me, kind of like a rally cry.

And, umm, the models are correctly aligned to their surface in my games 0_o

Do you mean that a Granger on the ceiling looks like an ornament hanging rightside up from the top, or moving along like a trolley over a body of water?
