Post by: Sayeru on December 14, 2008, 02:06:37 pm
Hello, I have one question. In some games (like q3) u are able to see name of your enemy just aiming at him. Is that possible in tremulous ?
Is there any command to enable it? I hope evryone can understand me.

Nope.
How are you meant to hide in the dark when you have big glowing text over you?

Heh, that's a good point. I never considered that.

Lighting yes.  Hiding and cover are a core mechanic of many games.

Actually, my idea for a flashlight is so:

But only a concept. Probably won't fit into anything at the moment, with our current mapset.

You were saying hiding in the dark, not that your enemy is hiding very effectively when your cursor is pointed right at them ("able to see name of your enemy just aiming at him").

It's a moderately terrible idea, just not for the reason David said

Sheesh, I've been gone some time, yet the questions stay the same, always.

If you need to actually see your enemy, just do away with all the eye-candy and set your brightness way up. There are tons of tips around on how to do this.

But seeing the name of your oponent only leads to harrassment.

Or compliments. Depending on your skill.
