1.2 gpp definitely divided the playerbase and caused the bleed - a death by... precisely two cuts
Unintentional gate-keeping(?). Seriously, an old game has crazy good players and any newbie gets put into the ground and will likely not return, a guy with thousands of hours playing Tremulous gets a marauder and can wipe out a squad easily... hard to learn, hard to master, unlike CS
Death of arena games
Death of fps games that are even a little bit more difficult than CS
Death of ICQ, Skype communities (Discord coulda woulda shoulda saved it) - the now geriatric patients cannot be bothered to learn to use Discord
No new updates to the glorious 1.1, go devs
Inability to reach new players - the only way to learn of this game is through Linux software, just the way I learnt of it in 2006
There was going to be a "Tremulous 2" by rotacak on UE4 but bro didn't care to check the licenses at play, while OG devs cared too much about it... it got released as Murnatan, which was pretty cool, I liked it, but it was clear the game ran out of funds because of the license issues and it looked and played the way it did
