With the somewhat surprising death of the AA clan, the Alcoholics' server ended up in danger of being eliminated. With it being one of the last havens for skilled games in North America, I couldn't stand to see it die, and as a result have taken it over.
First and foremost, I don't plan to stuff the admins list with my own friends and clan members, and I have consequentially left the admin.dat more or less the same.
I do, however, plan to make the server a more friendly environment, and I have seen to it that abusive admins have been lowered in power and administrative ability. Unlike it has been in the past, I will consider each complaint individually and overturn decisions when necessary. If you have a previous and existing ban that you do not believe to be just, please send me a private message along with your justification, and I will try and help you out of trouble.
Admins no longer have the ability to register under aliases, and will be held accountable for their actions.
I would like to mention that I have an excellent technician in Lakitu7, and regular updates are being made on both our ends to try and make the server a more open and friendly place than it ever has been, as it is no longer solely a clan server, but a public one for everyone's use.
Our future visions include a minimization of abuse and a maximization of accountability for our admins. We plan on finding a clever way to mix in a few other maps, and I will actively add acceptable pk3s to the base folder (such as Superpie's visual mod) so that modders aren't limited by the server's pure setting. I just want to help out Tremulous as a whole by keeping at least one of the big servers up and running for public use. I hope to see you all there! =D
