Genki you are an idiot. Good job banning prominent members of the clan scene for absolutely nothing.
Seconded.

She had a reason, but from what I understand it was fairly silly.

I don't really care though, since half the members of the prominent clan scene are dicks anyway.

Ugh how many times do I have to explain.

1. I warned him at the beginning not to annoy me by spamming and he'd be allowed to stay
2. He kept repeatedly spamming spec chat
3. He kept changing his name
4. I kicked him for a few minutes as a warning while I straightened out the playing teams
5. He came back with his name changed to "you shut up"
6. He got banned for that
7. He was on the final tourney server under an alias and I banned him from there as well for reasons 1-5
8. He got some of his buddies to show up under his name/ changing their name to his so they all received a ban
9. He got barred from future tournaments for all his actions combined.

This is exactly how it went down. He deserves to be banned.
However, I do think you should unban Anthony and Denton.

5. He came back with his name changed to "you shut up"
6. He got banned for that

Damn, sounds like the old Dretch Tsunami admin. "I'm admin so you can't say things to hurt my feelings. If you told someone else to shut up, it'd be fine, but not to me! I'm important!"

Ohdam, team chat was being spammed. And THAT really fucks up the game, lemme tell ya. Seriously, have admins forgotten there's a !mute command? Wonder what we could use that for? Oh yeah! shutting people up! Wait no, let's just ban them and cause a big scene.

Then you don't care about competition.

What's the point of a tourney if you're going to ban players for barely doing anything, all you do is lower the competition. I can assure you if you keep that up Genki your tourneys are going to be a complete failure.

Definitely. I would have expected such recordings to be more sought after. Server slots limit Trem's ability of becoming a live spectator sport, but the recordings have real potential.

BTW, does it matter what client you play the demo on?

Tip: I'd pay good money for a DVD filled with footage from good Trem matches with voice-over commentary from a notorious player. A sort of documentary/video tutorial kind of thing. It's not even very hard to do. Once you have the appropriate demo recording you can replay them and capture video and sound with certain applications, then cut and encode it and add the commentary. Final step, profit.

You'd have to ask around how much would people be willing to pay but I'd venture to guess that there would be interest. Especially if it features well known clans and players and especially if the stuff comes from a tournament. And I can even imagine more than just Trem fans being interested; if it's good stuff it can serve as a generic tactic and strategy tutorial, or attract the attention of other FPS game fans.

So, TOT organizers: at future editions please have someone record from a spectator view and post the demo file. The more the merrier. And the in-game team chat is also particularly interesting (and funny) so if the players can be bothered please also record and post please.

I'll try myself at one of the next editions, but my time zone is quite different from the US, plus I get 150+ ping.

Thank you. I don't supposed there's more? From Xenocide, or from other matches. Or from a spectator view. :)

It was interesting to watch. Let's just say that the dynamics of a higher level game are quite different from carefree games on public servers. A bit too overcautious for my taste, but I guess in tournament finals you're gonna play it safe.

Heh, the others should of known not to connect named as dracone, and banning any V members wouldn't matter, since they made it perfectly clear they didn't want to be involved in the tourny.  So why did they even bother to show up?

I think permantly banning someome from the tournament is silly, but I think you guys getting mad about it over a touranment you didn't even want to be in is even more silly.

Silly kids.

The "so shut up" ban was for evading his previous ban, not for him renaming himself.

Boo.

He was muted. The next match came around, and we decided to give him another chance by not remuting. He continued to be a nuisance, so we decided to ban. At that point he was just taking up space.

If anyone had done this including Timbo, kevlarman or benmachine or anyone, they would have ended up getting banned as well. Dracone was causing trouble. That is all that happened, Dracone is well aware of how he acted, he deserves what he got. Dracone is only a "Prominent Member" of the tremulous community because he is good at the game. He provides no value however to the tremulous community. Being respectful is something I would expect from a prominent member of the tremulous community. As far as I am concerned Dracone is just another player. Good at trem but not a very good member of the tremulous community.

He led NT for two years, which caused relevant servers and teamspeaks to be hosted, provided the clan scene with constant match opportunities (far more than your silly tournament), has adminned just about every important server, has beta tested maps and HUDs, and is a favorite player of many,  so you can shut the fuck up, whoever you are (noone knows).

Just to be clear, are you saying I was aware of that last part as well? That I'm aware of deserving what I got? I'm not going to jump to conclusions lest I, the tournament criminal, ruin this community helping miracle topic.
