I have no idea what to search for
« on: February 14, 2009, 10:40:57 am »
Hi,

I am the new one. I don't  know what happend. I use Ubuntu 8.10, i didn't play for maybe 2 weeks. Everything worked fine till yesterday i wanted to play a little but all the textures or whatever seems strange. All maps are like this ->

buildings, walls, humans and aliens are strange.

I reinstalled the game, removed autogen.cfg. What else could i do, i have absolutely no idea?

Do you have other OGL games you can try?  Are they screwed up too?
As you reinstalled everything and deleted all the configs, I'd be inclined to say its something external to tremulous.

What graphics card do you have, and what drivers etc?
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

Ok, now it works i forgot to restart my machine after kernel update. Reinstalled ATI drivers, now it seems to work.

Yeah, I had the same issue yesterday, after updating to latest nvidia drivers, except mine was more interesting:

Wow Arch, thats a really interesting look even though its not supposed to happen. I believe that is the most winner bug evar.
Though your Bloom and your FPS mocks my PC

Well, obviously I know you did, but if you didn't, rollback your drivers.

Actually, no, it's cause I updated the drivers and didn't reboot for kernel module upgrade. :P A reboot fixed it. And I have to cap my FPS, even with bloom :( otherwise I get net errors  :'(
