High-Resolution ATCS Texture Replacement
« on: February 22, 2009, 03:14:35 am »
I made a new set of textures for ATCS, they mimic the old ones but are twice the resolution and are colored somewhat differently.

PS: The textures in your visual mod are overwriting the textures of this one. ;)

These textures look leet, awesome job superpie!

Unfortunately it might also eat the living shit out of my old PC, so I don't think I would install it for practical use. :'(

Uploaded to R Unlimited CZ server.

Sadly, floor texture (checkerboard) is not in bigger resolution.

Do I need to do something more then just copy the pk3's to my base folder?

No, but you need to delete superpie's visual mod, if you have it.

Turns out it was my misunderstanding. I expected to see this on online servers. Then I realized that I will only see it on /devmap atcs (and I do), since servers protect themselves against clients using whatever pk3's they want. And then I also understood what those people who mentioned servers above were talking about. :)

If you upload it to a server,  does that mean players will see the new high res atcs, or will they have to download it to play it?

The Players have to download it and if it's a pure server you have to put it on the server too.

Can someone list the steps to where exactly you have to post this?

This can help clear things up.

Like user base or where tremulous.exe is installed.

I tried extracting ATCS into a .zip, then replaced it's textures, put it back as .pk3, and then used that .pk3 to replace ALL my atcs (every location possible), thus resulting in my downloading of ATCS again..

Anyone want to clear things up for me and those who don't know?

Thanks,

Ok, it comes as a .zip.

So do I rename it so it's a pk3, or should I extract it and etc.?
