Although I know this is going to get flamed by the official "dev team."  I think its clear to see what the real 1.2 is going to be.  Keep up the good work volt, amanieu, and the others.

Hmm, interesting, but v1.2 looks like its tweaking game play/server whereas TremFusion concentrates on improving the client, two different branches of development.

If you look inbetween march 21st and 28th, you'll see Merged mgdev.

So, those balance and game tweakings are also available on tremfusion.  Only the tremfusion developers are active and constantly engaging new support/features and client fixes that mgdev fails to apply.

Official dev team does not flame.
Official dev team points and laughs and continues developing Tremulous using proven methodologies and ideals as they have done for almost a decade.

Hmm, bath in your ignorance and enjoy your time when tremfusion is actually played unlike 1.2

2020, you wont have loyal people anymore, look how 90% of the active forum people have "quit until 1.2 is back"  and pop in once every 6 months to go "Yup still no progress LOLZ"

You also ask for feedback, but instantly shoot down the idea of any feedback.  Its essentially you asking us to tell you what we think so you can tell us we're wrong.

My immediate reaction to the graphic was: "How cool, two different groups of people involved in continuing Tremulous development, both of which appear to have goals, and both of which appear to be making progress, in their own way, at their own pace."

From where I'm sitting, anybody who wants to volunteer their free time to work on a game this cool, with a community this broad, is a person deserving of a show of gratitude. Thanks to all of you, for caring enough to get involved.

Cheers

Stop being so sensable.  Its a lot funner to be agressive.

Also, maybe it wouldn't be so "flamish" if MGDev could supply the same respect to tremfusion and vice versa to some extent like you are.

what is the point of this thread? This is just comparing balance changes and a couple of improvements/fixes to tremfusion. 1.2 also has new models, a map and as I recall most of the coding(or all?) for 1.2 is done and they are just waiting for the models to be finished. You can't add that much balance changes at a point because how are you going to compare the balance if you keep on changing stuff.

What ideals?

Being stubborn?
Being ignorant?
Being invisible? (This started to change a bit lately. But this has STILL not changed regarding the mainpage at tremulous.net/index.php)

That chart does not show what the devs have really been up to (It's all happening behind the scenes (Stannums models etc)). :D
@ Bissig; What's the problem with being invisible, it indicates they're are working extremely hard.
I could insult the fact that Tremfusion devs clearly have far too much time on there hands or a team far too large to function. j/k

How come everyone else in open source games like war§ow, nexuiz etc.. is capable of developing the game AND creating a not embarrassing homepage? The community has started to post some really nice things like artwork and other stuff. What do the devs/maintainers do? Nothing. Porting a stupid pink forums theme. For such nonsense there is always time apparently.

just because someone says something absurd does not mean it is sarcasm.

All of his post, including the small part is defending the devs.

AND creating a not embarrassing homepage?

This is my fault, I simply have been incredibly busy with other commitments f. Unlike teenagers (and the like) some of us have to juggle social lives, girlfriends, wives, jobs, and other commitments with our work in voluntary endeavors. I do however try my best to spend a little time on *something* trem related a few times a week.

I'll definitely try to more regularly update the frontpage - If you have any ideas for things that could go up there, please don't hesitate to let me know :)

Takes two seconds.  SMF is cool like that.

some of us have to juggle social lives, girlfriends, wives, jobs, and other commitments with our work in voluntary endeavors.

If you have both a girlfriend and wife, then no wonder you're busy!

I thought we had already got over this?

It's common knowledge that mgdev is utterly useless

I don't know why they try, all they do is code crap and cry
