Please be more specific, I think you mean downloading maps, correct? To do this:

1. Run Tremulous until your at the Start screen (Screen with the moon background and awesome(?) music)

2. Click the tilde (~) key on your keyboard to open the console (aka, the big black box that comes down on your screen)

3. This thing lets you type commands (text) into it and lets you execute shit. Now type in:
Code: [Select]
sv_allowdownload 1Exactly as shown above, no caps and yes, there is a space between sv_allowdownload and 1.

4. Try joining a server with a custom map, it should work, but it'll be as slow as hell to download. Try finding an updated Tremulous client by using the forum's Search function as shown above in this page.

Cheers. If this isn't the answer your looking for, reply back and specify your problem in detail.

Unless you get a modified client downloading will be extreamly slow so either update your client (heres a video) or download the maps you want from a map respitory and place them in your base folder.
for windows C:\program files\tremulous\base
mac ???
linux (if you can install tremulous on linux then you should be able to find it cuz linux users are smart)

Open console and do "/rate 40000". It will make you download at 40K/s instead of 4K/s.

Doesn't the server have to do the same though?
Any maps not in the MG repo?  Email me or come to irc.freenode.net/#mg.

When in doubt, refer to TinMan's sig:

Code: [Select]
Linux: ~/.tremulous/base/
Mac: ~/Library/Application\ Support/Tremulous/base/
Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Tremulous\base\

I Challenge that statement
I used Linux for over a year ( and still do occasionally)
