I hope this is what all veteran clans move towards. Scrimming and whatever just makes it harder to get along with everyone else. I agree, there's nothing left to prove, especially since only in public games can you truly shine. Scrimming forces your to be a pussy, always returning to base, crouching in most clans' cases, and never attacking alone. Public games allow for epic shotty vs tyrant fights constantly.

No, when you play pub it's only yourself you hurt by not being a pussy. When you play scrims it lets the team down. Noone wants to be the player that gives the desperately camping humans their s2 kill.

P.S. you're retarded and quit aliasing like a, well, pussy.

Some people may not like scrims, and that is fine. But I like the teamwork that goes a long with scrims, along with trying new tactics. It just adds a whole new flavor to tremulous. Public games are fun every once in a while but I like working with my team to finish the enemy, and now they are nothing like that. You have a bunch of idiots on your team who don't listen, play stupid and I do not find that fun. :(

Hey,

Everyone has his or her own personal preference. Most of us *personally* do not want to scrim anymore - we've scrimmed way too much in Zubs, NT, {V}, etc...
We're not being annoying. We're not forcing you to stop scrimming. If you have fun doing it...great! We don't. +1 to everything Ozzy said. Whether or not you'd like to admit it, that is what every scrim I have seen for the past month has involved...crouching, running back to base, fighting ONLY in teams, camping at times, etc. If that's what you enjoy, so be it. We aren't saying that's objectively bad. We just don't enjoy doing that, and so we won't do that. We'll do what we enjoy, which is having fun, competitive public matches, usually on the AA server. It's not as bad as you say it is, actually. There are plenty of decent players out there now, and if you play with a couple of your clan members, using teamwork in pub matches is very easy. Even if you can't use teamwork in public matches (happens)...I really enjoy winning public games by myself, especially when my team is utter garbage.

Btw, I usually don't ignore sock puppet accounts because I find most of them humorous, but...you guys aren't even close to n00b pl0x. :/ Go away, thanks.

@Everyone else: Thanks for the support!

I don't find some of the tactics fun in scrims, I find the teamwork that goes along with scrims fun and exciting. When we scrim on other maps besides atcs the tactics are never the same so you have to adapt to each game accordingly. If you use teamwork in pub games with good players and your clan members it can be fun, but I just don't like pub games with random idiots that ruin the whole game.

What's the point of making a clan if you don't want to scrim. You could have just been clanless and gamed with those same people in your clan right now, btw. Best of luck.

I see scrims as events where teamwork can come into play to allow you to do individual operations that you normally could not pull off often. On the other hand, they're terrible in most cases for camping and such, because people seem to be unable to say, "Fuck it." Scrims have gotten to where they are entirely because of, depending on the people whose opinions affect the actions of the team, a combination of stupidity and the desire to piss the other clan off in some cases.

However, I'll gladly stop playing in a public game to go scrim, so long as there is a scrim going on. Looking for scrims in the current Tremulous is an even bigger waste of time than going into a scrim with a clan that will camp for 60 minutes. But still, I enjoy scrims, mostly because I don't care how bad the enemy is camping because I will do what I want if I'm starting to get bored. I join a clan for the opportunity the clan provides me to be entertained by this game, not for my personal liking of the players who are in the clans I join.

Fair enough. As long as you enjoy it.

Same reason you go to church.

Anyway, it's pointless to debate this, since it's just our personal preferences. I doubt we'll change our minds. We play on different servers, or with different  people, or with different play-styles, so we obviously play different public matches. It's not very elucidative to make comparisons. I think it's very easy to use teamwork in public matches; you think it's easier/more enjoyable to do that in scrims. Everyone is correct!

P.S. The above is for the sake of argument. Personally, I don't really enjoy using teamwork that much. I enjoy playing solo more.

Clan {Jo|So} were clan {No|Shows} at todays war between them..

The Magma Warriors are pissed off you wasted our time, and I have decided I will DOS attack your server, I have a program for that. Unless you want to get your asses on, and do a 3 on 3 or 4 on 4.

Define "you guys," because honestly, I think I earned myself a place in the Court of Trolls quite a long time ago.  Player1, n00b pl0x, Steely Ann, Henners, and yes, even the mighty Lava Croft... these are my peers, bro.

(I don't have any puppet accounts who've posted in this thread though.)

Yay tremulous now has retirement homes! The retirement home stage is a serious stage in the life cycle of computer games which often denotes the downfall of the game in question. Old players will join a community of other old-timers where they reminisce about past glory, grumble and play a few public games now and then (which they pwn horribly) scaring away new blood.

RIP tremulous.

P.S. Welcome to the club. Have fun.

Player 1 wasn't a troll, neither was Henners or Steely Ann. They were just forum whores.

Real trolls:
n00b pl0x
AppleJuice
Lava Croft
Caveman
Volt with his sock puppet accounts
[us]belier13
Grape (Or he's just retarded, hard to tell)
Yahoo (Though he was fairly minor compared to the others)
Nitrox

I'm sure I'm missing a couple, but I don't feel like going through old threads to weed them out.

Forum-whoring is a large part of being an effective troll.  I'll give you Nitrox, Applejuice, Yahoo, Volt and Caveman as minor trolls though.

I fail to see Player1 as a troll, maybe Henners. But definitely not Steely Ann.

Having perfect grammar and making paragraph-long posts for no apparent reason other than to bore us with their walls of text, don't make them trolls.
