some sugestions for balance the game

some sugestions for balance the game:

it removes the ability of regeneration of aliens when overmind does not exist.
no orvermind = no alien regenetarion
its good to balance the game, mainly in sudden death, currently aliens looks for to tire the human beings in the sudden death, making to spend them the ammunition and to lose life.
in this way overmind would be more important for aliens.

sugestion for battlesuit:

add small alien detector(close range)
add melle attack(good to kill s1 aliens easily or cause great good damage in dragoons ans tyrants in close range)
add ammo pack(good to improve the battesuit+chaigun utility, or battlesuit+shotgun or others no energy weapons).
more resistance an fall damange.

Dispersion Pistol for battlesuit(replace blaster).
low-power. Very destructive when supercharged with powerups.
By holding down the Primary Attack button, a player may charge up a powerful(damange in full change = aprox:60)
The Secondary Attack button fires a smaller projectile that requires no charging,slower to fire(similar a blaster with a Lasgun's fireinterval)


Alien throw.
When close to an Alien, you can pick them up using the pickup button and throw them away.(s1 aliens, it does not function in adv dragoon or Tyrant)-< like a crysis.

sugestion for new weapons:

Sniper rifle:(replace MD in S1)
Similar a actual MD(damange,firerate,ammo..)
5 shots per clip

New Mass driver: (new S3 weapon)
more damange compared with sniper rifle.
some slow bullet(bad vs small aliens(dretch and balistic), good vs big aliens(dragon and tt)).
3 shots per clip(5 with a Battery Pack)

Might be okay. But the battlesuit is a tank, not a recon guy.

I'm not sure what you're saying at the end, but this is a "no" anyway. A good battlesuit can last for quite some time already. It doesn't need to be even longer.

Try not to fall of the ledge next time. It helps.

I once dreamed of a turbocharged Command&Conquer game as a teenager (C&C2), but I realised it would suck balls and indeed be very annoying.

they are only small ideas, I do not want that tremulous is similar to another game, I only want to help improves it :D

ya got your wish :P now there's 3 CNC games. i thought Tiberian Sun was a pretty good game, frankly.... although it could stand to be less cheesy, it was a pretty good game to me.

as for the main part of the thread... i really like the first idea. it would be great.

about more classes, i was in |NN| for a bit of time, and in that time, they were making a super cool tremulous mod called NoMX. it included a ton of new classes such as a flying alien, called a Vandal, and quite a few enhancements. i don't know if they're still making it though, because i'm not in |NoMNoM| anymore. however, if it is still being made, if you want a tremulous on steroids, go sign up for a NoMX beta test... just don't plan on seeing me there.

aliens are stronger yes but with human teamwork, ( which when I play almost never happens) humans have the advantage.

S1
bunch of humans with rifles can easily take out goons. same thing works in S3 but with better equipment

lolwut? You sir, are retarded. I'm guessing english is NOT your first language. Seriously, most of these ideas are to improve humans. I'm guessing you haven't played this game long, you struggle to play as aliens, so you play humans often. I'm supposing you aren't very good at the humans, and want to make it easier for you.

Seriously mate, play more, it's actually easy to not die as a battlesuit, not fall off edges, kill aliens in sd and when you want to introduce melee to humans, but only for s1 aliens, think on that. OMG A DRETCH! I'll just walk close enough to throw it, oh wait it HB me, I'm dead. OMG A BASI! I'll just walk close enough to melee, oh wait, It grabbed me! OMG A MARA!...You wouldn't be able to get close enough anyway.

Dude, when I posted that shiz, I was a nub. Now I play like every day, and I have an understanding of what the good parts of trem actually are. Nobody wants a MMORPG trem. But, gametypes are still an option, Seriously, Survival mode anyone?

Wolf; At the moment Trem is fairly(ish) balanced, it's just player skill levels that are not.

Frazzler; "Nobody wants a MMORPG trem" I'm afraid I'd have to disagree there's always someone. :P
Survival mode? try the Ambush mod, or my map (Hard Landing). :D

Just as everyone has been saying, play longer before you fix things. The teams are fairly balanced, but aliens have a higher inclination to kill, and, humans have a higher inclination to solo. Oh, and half these problems are just because your team sucks, play with a good team on an Human s2 v Alien s1 you slaughter. 3 crappy humans with no armour or weapons, against a headbiting good, yes the good will most likely win, BUT get one human who can dodge (in unlagged a good ping is needed) and put them in front, and that good goes down. A goon only takes 40 rifle bullets to kill so have 3 ok riflers pump half a clip each into that goon, and you win, teamwork is the bread and butter of the humans. Now, go out, play some different servers, meet some new people, and try organize some hard core rushes with humans.

Aliens are made to be stronger; their hunters. One alien beats two humans any day. Have you noticed alien defenses suck in comparison?
Just don't go alone, humans are good in groups and if you're on the right map, aliens are usually spread out more. If not, shotgun always works nice in close confrontations ;)

The humans forte is their ranged weapons while the aliens forte is their melee attacks. Giving humans both ranged and melee isn't fair at all, this isn't halo. It seems like you're trying to make a one man army. You have to remember, humans are kind of meant to work in a team.

Yes humans have to restock on bullets. This is not a design flaw :)

Try a korx server. They have more weapons and more aliens.

Humans:
+health regeneration (all humans get slow health regeneration)
+surge (20% more power for las gun, mass driver, lucifer cannon?, xeal)
+biokit (faster health regeneration and makes you more immune to disease, but not fully)
+light armor (it's free!)
+helmet (makes you more immune to disease and prevents balisks dizzy spray)
+jetpack (now has fuel; no more sky campers!)
+cloak (invisibility)
+ammo pack (extra non-energy bullets)
+shotgun (right click shoots grenades; takes two bullets and not as powerful as a grenade itself)
+mass driver? (right click ability to zoom. Like a sniper. Is that new?)
+pulse rifle (right click shoots a super bullet)
+xeal (similar damage to lucifer cannon. bullets bounce off walls and are very dangerous to all team members but aliens as well; better to go alone when using a xeal in my opinion.)

Aliens:
+disease (can infect all humans who come into contact that aren't protected against it. Lasts longer then regular poison and is quite annoying. Also known as "aids" :D)
+granger (spit snares opponents [sticks them to the ground])
+adv granger (same as granger with other adv granger abilities)
+battle granger (same as adv granger but stronger. Better for aiding other team members as apposed to going alone)
+adv dretch (bright green and easy to spot but has twice the health and can pounce. Also spreads disease)
+adv balisk (turns invisible when you stand still. when you touch a booster your are invisible even while moving for a period of time. Around 30 seconds is my estimate)
+adv marauder (constant low damage electricity, very affective because of their ability to evade bullets. can also spit like dragoons but are much less powerful)
+adv dragoon (now available in s2 to prevent human camping)
+tyrant (gives other aliens a healing buff? Has much more hp then a regular tyrant. Is also stronger and has the ability to spit. It's spit only recharges with a booster and the tyrant only gets one but it's area of affect is large and it's damage can be devastating to human bases.)
I'm sure I missed something.

Not to mention all the other added gameplay features like lower gravity and new player models.

The moral to this story is, the tremulous developers aren't going to add this stuff. This game is open source meaning anyone can make their own server and add the stuff they want in the game. Their out there you just got to look.
