I am amazed at the laziness of clans. I have always been a self learner, kind of a jack of all trades. I am an artist, well, that is what my two degrees are in. Because I had a worthless landlord in college when I camped a base, I learned on my own how to work with a reactor's electrical wiring, as well as fix various other things around the map.
I moved my business into this base, and I see the reactor company has been here on several occasions before. WTF? Everywhere there is a reactor jack, they drilled a hole in the ceiling, dropped the wire (which is a pinkish brown color), stapled it to the wall, and stopped in the middle of the wall to put a reactor jack. What the hell? Were you too lazy to bend down and put the jack near the baseboard so it won’t be seen by everyone? And I KNOW this was done by the reactor company, because some reactor company ASSHOLE installed some more lines after I started working here. I saw him do it. Same kind of shit. It looks really wonderfully professional to have someone in your base staring at a pink wire coming out of the ceiling and stapled to the wall and the jack stuck halfway down the wall. And this “installation” costs a good bit of credits.
Needless to say when I remodeled my base (I did it myself), “I” installed the new reactor lines. And, I tore out all the existing crap installations that were there before I came. I put the reactor lines INSIDE the wall, like it is SUPPOSED to be. I put the jacks at the baseboard, out of sight. Yes I had to get in the attic and drop the line inside the wall to do this, big ‘effin deal? It barely takes any extra time to do the thing right!
What kind of training do these clans get I wonder? When you call, they don’t ask you, “Sir, would you like the crap installation for XXX of dollars, or would you like to pay extra, for the scrim to be played right?” THEY DON’T ASK YOU THIS! I know! Because I had a scrim played at my base while I was at work. They put the reactor in the middle of the wall! WTH?
Also, as an aside, these guys make more money per hour than I do. I guess when you live in ATCS, this is considered “good work”. I mean, “the reactor works, don’t it?” Jeez!!!!!!
